Kim Kardashian Divorce Unfortunately Won't Ruin Popularity of TV "Star"

Eric BowmanNov 2, 2011

Kim Kardashian has almost 11 million followers on Twitter, and her recent divorce to NBA player Kris Humphries isn't going to all-of-the-sudden crush how popular she has become.

This "star," if you wish to call her that, has come a long way since the world first learned who she was. Most women would hide after some rapper released a sex tape of them together, but Kardashian has turned things around to become a very successful woman.

In addition to her reality TV show, Kardashian is also a fashion designer and in her words a "perfumista," which means she slaps her name on a perfume some other people create.

Kardashian has received a ton of hate for her divorce, and several people are calling it a hoax. After all, her marriage lasted 72 days, and it always felt as if Kardashian and Humprhries rushed everything just to make money off of it.

The Twitter world has blown up over Kardashian's divorce, and it has sparked several different trending topics including #ThingsLongerThanKimsMarriage.

The couple was paid $1.5 million by People Magazine to have the first wedding photos. A bit much don't you think?

Despite all the backlash, Kardashian isn't going anywhere. She may be traveling to Australia, but she'll maintain her celebrity status, and in a year this will likely all be forgotten.

In an effort to avoid further criticism, Kardashian released a statement to her fans. Here is an exert from that statement.

"

There are also reports that I made millions of dollars off of the wedding. These reports are simply not true and it makes me so sad to have to even clarify this. I’m so grateful to everyone who took the time to come to my wedding and I’ll be donating the money for all the gifts to the Dream Foundation.

"

We know the first statement isn't true from Kim because she was indeed paid money for her photos, and her trying to tell people she didn't make money from the lengthy wedding episode is just sad. So many people tuned in to see her get married.

She does the right thing by giving money to charity, although, her haters will just look past it.

In the statement she also claims she married for love, and realized that airing her wedding on national TV may not have been the smartest decision.

Of course it wasn't, but it won't ruin her popularity.

Kardashian will still exploit herself and let people watch her "real life." Don't even try to tell me those "reality" shows aren't scripted because they are.

And we can't forget how much Kardashian loves athletes. Reggie Bush, Miles Austin and Humphries have all be linked with her, and it won't be long before Kardashian is paired with another professional athlete.

I can't stand reality TV shows, and I know I'm not that only one who wishes Kardashian would get out of the news, but unfortunately, that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

As long as people are going to watch what Kardashian does on a daily basis, she will remain a celebrity, and people will forget about his divorce before you know it.
