Santana Moss Injury: Updates on Redskins Star's Week 8 Status and Fantasy Value
The Washington Redskins have more problems than their loss to the Carolina Panthers.
The switch to John Beck highlighted what everyone thought at the beginning of the season, the Redskins don't have two quarterbacks, they don't even have one.
And now last year's top receiver, Santana Moss, is injured as well. ESPN fantasy guru Matthew Berry tweeted during yesterday's game:

And Monday morning, Moss tweeted an update as he was waiting to go in for surgery on said hand:
UPDATE: Monday, October 24 at 3:18 p.m. EST
It appears that Moss' surgery has gone well but it comes with even more bad news.
Many initially thought it would be about three-to-four weeks, but three pins were placed in the veteran receivers hand.
This pushes Jabar Gaffney firmly into the mind as the only player worth replacing Moss with.
The Redskins will trouble moving the ball though. They officially got word that running back Tim Hightower is out of the season as well.
INITIAL UPDATE
Moss hasn't been the player he was last year through the first seven games of the season.
The veteran was still the most targeted player on the team, but tight end Fred Davis has more catches and fellow receiver Jabar Gaffney has more yards.
Though Moss' 25 catches, 301 yards and two touchdowns were hardly anything to be concerned about fantasy wise.
If he was a starter on your roster, then adding Gaffney is the best play. The two players immediately after Davis, Gaffney and Moss on the Redskins' receiving stat sheet are running backs Tim Hightower and Roy Helu.
The Redskins have lost three of their last four games and their offensive production continues to dwindle each weak.
Moss, at 32 years old, was always going to be risk this season. A year ago he turned in his best season since 2005 with over 90 catches and 1,100-plus yards but, chances of a repeat were slim.
This is just another blow to a team that got a bit too big for it's britches.
Starting running back Tim Hightower might have a torn ACL, and that would mean he's done for the season.
Moss' absence will become an even bigger problem as the Redskins move forward with unproven Ryan Torain and rookie Roy Helu at running back.
Stay away from any Redskin receivers not named Gaffney until you see what they plan to do.
We'll update more on Moss when more is known.
