Week 7 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Eric Decker and 6 Best Bottom of Bench Plays

Zach KruseOct 21, 2011

Looking for a spark from your fantasy football bench in Week 7 of the NFL season? You've come to the right place. Broncos receiver Eric Decker kicks off our list of the six best bottom of the bench plays this week.

Eric Decker, Denver Broncos

Gone from Denver is Brandon Lloyd, and in is Decker as the Broncos' No. 1 receiver. Will that hurt him or help him? I'd say a little of both, but Tim Tebow showed last year that he can find his No. 1 guy for good numbers. See Lloyd's three games with Tebow starting for the evidence.

Roy Helu, Washington Redskins

Mike Shanahan spins his running-back wheel almost every week, and Ryan Torain was disappointing last week against a poor Eagles run defense. If he struggles against the Panthers and their lousy run defense, you could see Shanahan spin the wheel again. It'd likely land on Helu, who has shown some flashes in limited touches so far.

Michael Bush, Oakland Raiders

Regardless of who the Raiders start at quarterback, the offensive game plan is going to go through the run game. Darren McFadden will get his carries, but Bush has eight or more touches in four of six games this season and three touchdowns. Ten carries for 50 yards and a score isn't a reach by any means against the Chiefs.

Montario Hardesty, Cleveland Browns

Cleveland has been conservative with Peyton Hillis this season, and his hamstring is still bothering him. That could give Hardesty the majority of the carries against the Seahawks this weekend. Seattle has been tough against the run, but the opportunity for touches gives him plenty of upside.

Doug Baldwin, Seattle Seahawks

Charlie Whitehurst doesn't inspire much confidence at quarterback, but I still like this matchup for Baldwin. Joe Haden is likely to sit for the Browns, and Baldwin is coming off a 136-yard day before the bye. He's proven to be the playmaker in the Seahawks passing offense.

Steve Breaston, Kansas City Chiefs

More than likely, Breaston is a free agent in your league. He's worth a look, however, and he's starting to heat up as the Chiefs passing game improves. Dwayne Bowe is going to take on double teams almost every week, which opens up Breaston to make plays. Expect him to do more of the same against the Raiders.
