Blake Griffin Video: Watch Clippers Superstar's Most Impressive Dunk Yet

Alex KayOct 20, 2011

Blake Griffin is known for throwing down some impressive slam dunks.

He is also known for his previous body of work with Kia in the 2011 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

As you may know—and you can see here—Griffin brought out a Kia in the final round of the competition. He then had former teammate Baron Davis loft him the ball as he sailed over the hood of the car and slammed it down.

Griffin has now teamed up with Kia once again and did a promotional shoot for the 2012 Optima.

The 30-second spot features Griffin in an Evel Knievel-style jumpsuit, goggles, a helmet and a cape, while on roller blades. He latches onto a rope that is attached to the back of a car and starts to build up speed as opera music blares in the background.

He hits a huge jump as he releases from the car and takes off.

As he soars through the air in a Superman-like pose, he catches a basketball that's shot out of a cannon and begins doing some crazy flips.

He then slams it through what looks to be a 40-foot high hoop and hangs on.

Seconds later, he is down on the ground, just chilling with the car that got him to the speed he needed for the slam.

While the commercial is beyond obviously fake, it is still pretty entertaining and shows the lighter side of Griffin.

How often are we going to be able to see Griffin dunk besides during this 30-second spot with this stupid lockout going on?

I think it’s great that Blake has found a solid sponsor and will still be able to make money and support his family while his employer bars him from showing up to work and getting paid.

Let’s just hope that it ends soon so that everyone can get a chance to star in the league and shoot some car commercials.
