Fantasy Football Week 7 Projections: Matt Ryan and 5 Stars with Bad Matchups
Tom Brady and Michael Vick are just some of the league's best who are on bye weeks, but it's not just players on bye weeks who are going to render fantasy owners no points.
There are superstars who are going to prove to be worthless this week. Nightmare matchups can turn a fantasy stud into a fantasy dud and such will be the case this week.
Here are five superstars who will struggle this week against bad matchups.
Maurice Jones-Drew
1 of 5Maurice Jones-Drew is going up against a Ravens team that could easily be the best defense in the league. MoJo has been productive against stacked fronts, despite having to get it done on his own accord.
Even so, when that stacked front involves players like Haloti Ngata and Ray Lewis, it doesn't speak well for Jones-Drew's chances. This is a defense who limited Arian Foster to under 50 yards on 15 carries last week. Jones-Drew doesn't have a chance.
Vincent Jackson
2 of 5When he's healthy, Vincent Jackson is the sort of player that can take over a game. While he's healing up, fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to be any more productive than he was while he was banged up.
Matt Ryan
3 of 5On the 49ers' first play from scrimmage, Kyle Vanden Bosch blew by Joe Staley, sacked Alex Smith, forced a fumble and recovered it all in the same play. While the 49ers won the game, the Lions' front line proved to be relentless.
Steven Jackson
4 of 5The Dallas Cowboys have the No. 1 run defense in the NFL. That's not good news for Steven Jackson, who has been injured for most of the season and has failed to produce a single game over 100 yards this season.
Rob Ryan knows that shutting down Jackson means shutting down the Rams. Not even Brandon Lloyd going to the Rams is going to save them from offensive mediocrity. Jackson is going to have a tough day against a stout run defense.
Mark Sanchez
5 of 5Mark Sanchez is going up against a Chargers defense who allows less than 180 YPG through the air. Sanchez had one monster game against the Raiders this season, but other than that he's been forgettable.
Sanchez should be considered a sub 200-yard guy this week with at least one interception. If you were looking to start Sanchez this week as your No. 1 QB or to fill a bye-week void, it's probably best to seek help elsewhere.
