Did the New York Jets Illegally Tape the New England Patriots During Week 5?
Here we go again, another chapter in Spygate is about to break upon us—well, maybe not.
While watching the New York Jets take on the New England Patriots this past weekend, some became well aware of a strange man on the Jets' sidelines holding a video camera which happened to be directed towards the New England Patriots sidelines.
It was about four years ago, back in New England's incredible, record-breaking season in 2007 where the Patriots were caught for illegally videotaping against the Jets, which ultimately opened the can or worms known as Spygate.

With news of the Patriots illegally videotaping opposing teams' coaches and their hand signals, the entire NFL ultimately labeled Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots as cheaters.
So take a look for yourself, who is this man on New York's sidelines? Isn't it funny that he's facing a different direction than everyone else in the picture—could he be "stealing" New England's hand signals?
Well, not so fast. According to Albert Breer of NFL Network, teams can have video personnel on the sidelines, but must be wearing a lime green vest. Is this man wearing a lime green vest? He sure is.
So what in the world was he doing? Well teams usually have weekly programs with "inside" looks at the team, such as Patriots All Access—so one can only assume that the man in the lime green vest was videotaping action on the field and possibly a closer look at New York's sidelines, nothing illegal.
This is rather interesting though because according to an NFL spokesman back in 2007, it was illegal to have any type of video equipment on the sidelines:
"No video recording devices of any kind are permitted to be in use in the coaches’ booth, on the field, or in the locker room during the game.
"
So who knows what that man was videotaping? Could it have been illegal? It sure could have, but I guess we all have to believe in the "honor system" that the NFL has in place with personnel wearing a lime green vest on the sidelines being allowed to videotape.
What do you think? Should the NFL have taken a deeper look into this and asked the Jets' to present what was on the film? Or is that reading far too deep into it?
