Tarvaris Jackson Injury: Should Fantasy Owners Add Charlie Whitehurst?
The Seattle Seahawks didn’t show Charlie Whitehurst all that much confidence when they went out and got Tarvaris Jackson after last season to be their starting quarterback.
But with Jackson out with a right shoulder injury in the third quarter Sunday, Whitehurst has to step up.
Luckily for the Seattle offense, Whitehurst has been there before.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
When then-Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was injured in Week 17 last year and the Seahawks were in a must-win situation against the Rams, Whitehurst was the man they turned to. He hit on 22-of-36 passes for 192 yards and one touchdown. As significant as those stats were, Whitehurst didn’t throw an interception.
That being said, there are issues with Whitehurst. He also started in 2010's Week 9 game against the Giants and had a miserable outing, hitting on 12-of-23 passes for 113 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions.
Whitehurst was a career backup in San Diego and Seattle, where he has never gotten a chance to be the main man. Any hope he had that 2011 would be different went up in smoke when Hasselbeck left for Tennessee and Seattle management imported Jackson.
Whitehurst hit on six of his first eight passes for 52 yards after taking over for Jackson Sunday. The starter came up clutching his right shoulder after rushing for 11 yards on a designated running play. After being examined on the sidelines, Jackson went to the locker room, and the club said his return was questionable.
To that point, he'd hit on 15-of-22 passes for 166 yards, one score and one interception. He left with a 16-14 lead, and it was 19-14 in the Seahawks' favor early in the fourth quarter before the Giants scored to take a late 22-19 lead.
