Chad Henne Injury: Updates on Dolphins QB's Week 6 Status and Fantasy Value
Chad Henne suffered a shoulder injury against the San Diego Chargers in Week 4, and his status as the Miami Dolphins' starting quarterback is up in the air.
Miami is 0-4 right now, and it's not that Henne has been awful or anything—the team as a whole just hasn't been able to get it done. The next few weeks aren't all that easy, but luckily, the Dolphins have a bye in Week 5 to regroup and figure out how to get better.
Stay tuned here for the latest on Chad Henne's injury.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈

Bad news for Henne owners. He was off to a solid start to the fantasy year, and likely would have made a decent bye week QB in deeper leagues, but it appears his season has come to an end, according to Jeff Darlington of NFL.com.
From here, it's possible that the Miami Dolphins go out and sign David Garrard, which would make a lot of sense. Garrard's fantasy value will be limited for the first few weeks, but he is worth picking up in deep leagues.

According the Sun Sentinel, Henne could be out for the year.
"He's out. He's done for at least a while. His left shoulder is separated badly enough the Dolphins even might have lost him for the year depending on what's decided, according to a source.
"
Miami is looking at other options for a quarterback, and I think there best bet would be to pick up David Garrard. They should have done it right when he was cut by the Jaguars so he would be knowledgable of the system by now.
Head coach Tony Sparano won't specify just how long Henne will be out, but if sources are saying his shoulder is messed up that bad and he might miss the year, you can expect him to at least miss the Dolphins next game, which is Week 6 against the slumping New York Jets.
It's a big mess in Miami right now, and if you have Brandon Marshall you should worried about the future. Although, if they pick up Garrard then maybe not because he could work well with him, seeing as how he's done alright for not ever having an elite receiver.

Howard Blazer of 101sports.com tweeted which quarterbacks the Dolphins are looking at while Henne gets a second opinion on his shoulder.
Miami has been forced to make big decisions during their bye week, which is something teams don't necessarily like to do, but at 0-4 they have no choice.
According to the Sun Sentinel, Matt Moore has been named the starter. A lot will happen in the next two weeks, but either way don't expect to get much from Brandon Marshall, Davone Bess, Brian Hartline and Anthony Fasano.
However, if the Dolphins skip out on those two quarterbacks Blazer mentions, they could be after David Garrard. According to the Miami Herald, Garrard's agent said "everyone is still open to the possibility" of him signing with the Dolphins.
To me, Garrard makes the most sense because he's proven he can win. Miami doesn't need to wait much longer because if they get a new quarterback he'll need time to learn the system.

It now appears the Miami Dolphins are seriously considering life without Henne. According a tweet from NFL.com reporter Jason LaCanfora.
As mentioned in the last update, the Dolphins are getting a second opinion on Henne's shoulder. Now they're looking for another quarterback to bring, which means it doesn't look good for Henne at all.
Miami would be wise to bring in another quarterback as soon as possible because this is there bye week. That way the new guy has more time to learn the system and hopefully help the Dolphins win their first gameHenne may want to play through the pain, but his coaches have to let him first. The Dolphins are still concerned about how severe Henne's shoulder injury is, according to a tweet from Benjamin Volin of the The Palm Beach Post.
This isn't good news for the 0-4 Dolphins who can't seem to catch a break. Well, I take that back, they can catch one because Week 5 is a bye for the Dolphins.
The two weeks will help Henne, but the fact that Miami wants a second opinion is concerning. Henne hasn't been getting it done, and the Dolphins may feel it's best to let him rest for a while. David Garrard anyone?
Tuesday, Oct 4 at 11:40 a.m. ET
Henne told Mike Berardino of the Sun Sentinel that he plans to play against the New York Jets.
"I've [played through pain] before," he said. "I expect to do it. Put me in the shotgun. I've played through it and expect to play through it again."
"
The Week 5 bye definitely helps Henne and the Dolphins, who are 0-4 at the moment. The team as a whole needs to figure out how to get better, and during the week off Henne's shoulder will greatly heal.
Miami has some big decisions to make over the next few weeks, and if Henne doesn't starting winning games he may lose his job. The injury doesn't help, but in two weeks he should be good to go, especially with his tough mentality.

Chad Henne told The Palm Beach Post after the game on Sunday that he believes he can play.
""I can rip this arm off, and as long as I can post the ball up, I think I can play," Henne said. "I've had shoulder injuries in college and high school, and I played through it, so I expect to play through it again."
"
Henne is a tough guy, and he's had some good games this season. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to win for the Dolphins, and now that he's hurt, he may lose his job.
Matt Moore stepped in for Henne and played well against the Chargers, which surprised a lot of people. Henne is better, but if he continues to lose, then who knows what kind of changes the Dolphins may decide to make.
As far as fantasy value, I sincerely hope you have a different quarterback than Henne. However, you might have Brandon Marshall, Davone Bess, Brian Hartline or Anthony Fasano, and without Henne, their production could drop.
These receivers are much more comfortable with Henne under center, and if he's unable to play, you might want to think twice about starting the Dolphins receivers.
Miami does have a bye in Week 5, which works well for them as a team and Henne's shoulder injury. We'll see how Henne feels as the week progresses and if he can participate in practice.
