Ben Roethlisberger Injury Update: How Is Steelers Star's Ankle Injury?
Ben Roethlisberger sustained an injury to his left foot, and his status for next week's game against the Titans is up in the air.
The injury was sustained in a losing effort against the Texans that dropped the Steelers to 2-2. While Roethlisberger was plagued by a foot injury last season, this injury is on the opposite foot.
The Steelers are sitting at .500, and with the Ravens surging in the manner they are, they can't afford to lose their field general and lose even more ground in the AFC North race.

Injury Update (Sunday, October 2nd at 5:46 p.m.)
Joe Kapp reports that Ben Roethlisberger is rumored to have a sprained right ankle, which is somewhat odd, given that this report from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review indicates that his left ankle is the one that is injured.
As you can see, the Steelers Digest twitter revealed that Roethlisberger is indeed on crutches. That doesn't mean that Steelers fans should panic, though it certainly isn't the scene they want to see, especially this early in the season.
When He's Ready to Return
We won't know until the results of Roethlisberger's MRI how serious the injury is. Right now there are conflicting reports as to even which foot is injured. He hasn't been ruled out for next week, though Roethlisberger on crutches doesn't paint a bright picture of his status for this week.
Fantasy Impact
If you don't have a decent backup, it might be time to go get one. A less-than-100 percent Roethlisberger isn't a quarterback you want to instill all of your faith in. It's time to take out an insurance policy. The Pittsburgh line is so porous and battered, Roethlisberger is a liability every week he takes the field.
What They're Saying
""Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has an injured left foot and was wearing a walking boot when he left the stadium after Sunday’s 17-10 loss to the Houston Texans."
"
Roethlisberger in a walking boot raises a huge red flag. Even it ends up being a sprain, that doesn't mean Roethlisberger is a go. Him in a walking boot may suggest the injury is serious, but it could just as well be a precautionary measure until they know for sure what the issue is.
