Chris Paul Video: Watch NBA All-Stars Light Up Charity Game
Chris Paul is showing that he still has what it takes to be one of the best, if not the best, point guards in the NBA even with the lockout threatening to cancel the season.
On Saturday, Oct. 1, Paul put together the "CP3 All-Star Pickup Game" in Winston-Salem, NC.
A ton of stars showed up, including Kevin Durant, Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, John Wall and many others to support the CP3 Foundation.
The Hornet point guard’s foundation was started to “enhance and promote education, health, sports and social responsibility for youth and families.”
It works in the communities of Winston-Salem and New Orleans and contributes to a number of charitable organizations.
Paul donated $25,000 to Winston-Salem State University earlier in the day during a football game and had some of the greatest stars in the NBA turn out that night for a packed exhibition game in the school’s arena.
As you can see by the clip, Paul has not lost a step and neither have any of the other superstars in the league.
The game was reminiscent of an All-Star game and a street ball game combined. There were flashy passes, ankle-breaking dribble moves and no shortage of alley-oops being thrown.
Kevin Durant was the leading scorer with 48 points, showing why he has been the NBA scoring champ for two years running, while Paul himself pitched in 39 to lead their squad to a 175-146 victory over Wade and LeBron’s team.
Paul also grabbed 11 rebounds, dished eight assists and stole five balls in the victory and showed why he keeps his New Orleans’ team competitive in the very tough Western Conference.
The team pushed the Lakers to the brink in the playoffs last season and will be looking to get back there again if there is a season.
I’m just glad that all of these players are still working on their games and staying sharp in the event that the season actually happens.
