Carmelo Anthony SVU: How Will 'Melo and Chris Bosh Fare on Show?
For the first time in four months, there will be some original programming featuring Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh.
Wednesday night’s episode of Law and Order: SVU features the two All-Stars as students.
Here is Syracuse.com with the details of the duo’s roles:
"Anthony and Bosh will play former students who return to induct Coach Ray Masters (Lauria) into the Metro Basketball Hall of Fame. The ceremony gets interrupted when "True Blood" actor Mehcad Brooks appears as an ex-player accusing Masters of sexually abusing him as a child. Rapper/actor Heavy D appears as Brooks' cousin and business manager.
Anthony and Bosh will be among the former players interviewed in the investigation and also appear in the episode climax.
"
Let me take this opportunity to make the joke that these two have no idea how to act like classmates. ‘Melo was a one-and-done at Syracuse and Bosh did the same thing at Georgia Tech.
Bosh has already been in font of camera when he made a brief (and somewhat horrible) cameo in HBO’s hit show Entourage. ‘Melo appeared on an episode of Sesame Street in the past month.
These guys are not exactly the next Tom Hanks.
Bosh was very stiff and somewhat awkward in his 20-second cameo in a show where he got to play himself. Imagine him having to play a teenager that is interviewed by a cop.
This has the makings of comedic gold.
‘Melo was a horrible actor when trying to tell reporters he didn’t want to ditch the Denver Nuggets in favor of the New York Knicks.
Can they show the pain and agony of hearing one of their most beloved father figures is a potential sexual predator?
Hopefully they can hold their own and avoid turning this drama into a comedy.
