NBA 2K12: Reviewing The Newly Released Player Rankings

Eric BallJun 6, 2018

The most famous basketball game in the world unleashed their player rankings on Tuesday.

NBA 2K12 is known for their ultra-realistic presentation that has the best graphics, game play and commentators in all of video games.

They also do their due diligence when it comes to player rankings.

Dwight Howard is tied with Chris Paul as the game’s fourth-highest rated player at 93 behind LeBron James (98), Dwyane Wade (96) and Kobe Bryant (94). Last season, Howard was rated 88 as the league’s ninth-highest rated player.

The game is foreshadowing a dark season in Boston.

Rajon Rondo is the top player in the low 90s (it’s hard to tell in the video at the :26 mark) and is almost 10 points higher than the next best player, Kevin Garnett (83). Paul Pierce (82) and Ray Allen (80) round out a not-so fearsome foursome.

I find it interesting that MVP Derrick Rose is only given a 92 ranking. Did his poor performances against the Heat in the Conference Finals cost him a point or two?

Gotta love how the game is always looking forward. Despite putting the Dallas Mavericks on their back in route to a championship, Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki checks in with a 85, behind guys like Russell Westbrook (88), Pau Gasol (86) and Rudy Gay (86).

My favorite ranking may be the Knicks' Carmelo Anthony.

He clocks in with a 91 because he can’t play any defense. He’s going to be a great guy to play with on offense with as much versatility as any player in the league…but you have to give him help on defense.

The game is scheduled for release on Oct. 4th despite the ongoing lockout, so this will be your only chance to see all of your favorite players suited up in action…and you get to control their every move.

Trust me Wizard fans…your NBA 2K12 season is going to end up a lot better than the actual 2011-2012 season.
