Dancing with the Stars: Odds For Hope Solo and Other Stars Dancing In Season 13

Gabe ZaldivarSep 19, 2011

Dancing with the Stars gets back to exciting action this week with a season 13 cast filled with stars that can win it all.

We are going to break down the cast, their odds of winning and subplots that will have you glued all season long.

Proving that if it can be judged and awarded, people will place bets on it. Using odds by Bodog.eu, we have listed the cast with the likelihood of each star taking home the ultimate prize in season 13.

Not all stars are created equally.

For the most part, odds-makers like the more popular dancing hopefuls to outlast what will be a multitude of fan voting sessions.

It is time to put on your dancing shoes, plop them on the living room table and relax. You have an entire season of hits, misses and celebration.

The odds are great that this will be the most memorable season to date. You have a human quote machine in Ron Artest, who will take the stage as Metta World Peace and show a personality the nation will fall in love with.

We can't forget Kristin Cavallari. Jay Cutler's former fiancee has great odds going into the contest. I hope she doesn't have the same moping face that her ex has on a consistent basis as the Chicago Bears' quarterback.

The real question is where Hope Solo falls on the depth chart of popular dancers. The best goalie in the world amazed us in the World Cup with her beauty and passion for the sport.

She has made it easy to root for her, making her my favorite heading into Dancing with the Stars

Nancy Grace: 25/1

1 of 12

Dance Partner: Tristan MacManus

Nancy Grace is entering the contest at 25/1. She may very well be a top legal analyst on TV, but that is hardly the profession voters will go mad over.

There is simply too many colorful characters on this cast for Grace to make a dent, making the odds spot on in Grace's case.

Chaz Bono: 20/1

2 of 12

Dance Partner: Lacey Schwimmer

Say hello to the dark horse candidate of Season 13. At 20/1, the only child of Sonny and Cher is getting great odds.

DWTS sparked controversy by signing the famed transgender and LGBT advocate. This makes Bono a hit or miss dancer who should see either huge support or no support at all.

My money is on a very deep run for the affable Bono.

Ron Artest: 10/1

3 of 12

Dance Partner: Peta Murgatroyd

Metta World Peace takes center stage, giving him a chance to win over the few remaining Americans that have it in for him.

He has come a long way since that dreadful brawl in Detroit. All you need is a few moments to fall in love with this man who is part wacky, part hilarity and all honesty.

I will be rooting for the Lakers' star from day one of the competition.

Ricki Lake: 10/1

4 of 12

Dance Partner: Derek Hough

Don't count out Lake, who will come back to daytime talk in 2012. She has the bubbly personality and dancing acumen to be a real force in Season 13.

The actress/talk show host has featured in such zany movies as Hairspray and Cry Baby. Both films prove that Lake can cut a rug, something that is valued a great deal on DWTS.

JR Martinez: 10/1

5 of 12

Dance Partner: Karina Smirnoff

Let's see—Martinez is a former Iraq veteran, motivational speaker and star on ABC's All My Children.

I think it is easy to say voters will have Martinez voted deep into the season. All he needs to do is prove he can have some modicum of rhythm, and the ultimate prize may very well be his.

America loves a feel good story, and Martinez is one of the best.

Chynna Phillips: 10/1

6 of 12

Dance Partner: Tony Dovolani

The odds are spot on with Phillips. She is right in the middle of the pack because it is hard to determine what this former Wilson Phillips singer will do with the spotlight in 2011.

Phillips is one cast member that will be very comfortable on stage dancing. Now if this were a singing competition, she would be a shoe-in.

Let's see what a lifetime in Hollywood does for the daughter of The Mamas and the Papas' John and Michelle Phillips.

Robert Kardashian: 15/2

7 of 12

Dance Partner: Cheryl Burke

The odds-makers like Kardashian more than I do. He is my favorite to walk away in the first dismissal of the season.

I think the nation has had just about enough with the Kardahsian infusion into our popular culture, and that sentiment will see Kardashian dismissed, regardless of how well he dances.

David Arquette: 15/2

8 of 12

Dance Partner: Kym Johnson

The actor whose biggest role was playing a subpar cop in Scream will get a chance to shine amidst other celebrities.

I don't like his chances.

Arquette will be his usual whimsical self. He won't be the worst personality in the cast, nor the best, and will finish just below the cream of the crop.

Carson Kressley: 15/2

9 of 12

Dance Partner: Anna Trebunskaya

If this was a few years ago, I would like Kressley's chances a whole lot more. The famed stylist was a hit on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy

It remains to be seen if America has as much love for Kressley now as they did when Bravo ran the hit show.

With his sparkling personality, I can see Kressley and Trebunskaya doing enough to make the final five.

Kristin Cavallari: 11/2

10 of 12

Dance Partner: Mark Ballas

Forget locking down a rebound guy—Cavallari is filling the missing spot in her heart with an appearance on a hit show.

We almost saw Jay Cutler walk down the aisle with the reality show queen, but his cold feet saw the engagement end.

You can bet Cavallari will amaze us with her sass and beauty. Get used to seeing her, because she will be a mainstay this season.

Elisabetta Canalis: 5/1

11 of 12

Dance Partner: Val Chmerkovskiy

She has the look, she has the personality, but can she dance?

The only thing that could stop this Italian TV star from winning the season would be two left feet.

If she can deliver a semi-decent performance, the voters will have her winning week after week. How can you not want to see her on the show until the very end?

Hope Solo: 7/2

12 of 12

Dance Partner: Maksim Chmerkovskiy

It's easy to see why Hope Solo is the favorite to bring home a win in Season 13. She already captivated the nation with her leadership in the 2012 World Cup.

She also has the footwork of a world-class goalkeeper, not to mention she is beyond beautiful.

Going into night one, Hope Solo has the full package. Now, we get to see her put it all together.
