Ron Artest/Metta World Peace and DWTS: Hope Solo Will Be Best Athlete on Show
Ron Artest—excuse me, Metta World Peace—begins his journey on Dancing With The Stars, but unfortunately he will not be the top athlete on the show.
Dancing With The Stars enters its 13th season. An athlete has won the competition six times, and five athletes have finished second or third.
World Peace will be lucky to make it half way through the season, which will be a disappointment for all athletes.
Fortunately, Hope Solo is on the show this year, and she will be the top athlete.
Solo is the goalkeeper for the U.S. Women's World Cup team, and nobody has forgotten their amazing run over the summer. If anyone did, I'm sure ABC will remind them in the first few episodes.
The soccer star is a very likable individual, and the same cannot be said for World Peace/Artest. The Los Angeles Lakers' star has a bad past, including arrests and a 2004 attack of fans in the stands during an NBA game.
It's going to be very difficult for World Peace to appeal to the viewers of the show to gain votes. There are ways he can accomplish this, but I just don't see it happening.
His reputation doesn't help him, and the recent name change will also hurt his chances of getting votes.
World Peace will have to be entertaining and funny, but most importantly he has to dance well. He's a funny guy, so I don't see him struggling to make the viewers laugh (probably by making fun of himself), but he will fail at the dancing part.
Athletes are in great shape, and the majority of them can move well. However, World Peace will be stiff throughout this competition, which is why he won't be the top athlete on the show.
Solo will easily get votes because she is attractive and rising in popularity. She may not be the best dancer on the show, but if you watched her play you know she is a true competitor.
She's going to do well on the show, and it's not going to be difficult for her to outshine World Peace.
