NFL Scores Week 1: Final Score, Recap and Analysis of Jets Comeback over Cowboys
There were times on Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys when the New York Jets looked like they were still in preseason mode. Next thing you know, the Jets went ahead 27-24 and the game was over a short while later.
In other words, these are still the Jets we're talking about. It's rarely pretty, but they have a way of pulling out a win when you least expect it.
By that same token, we are also talking about the same Cowboys. They have a way of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, so to speak.

Final Score: Jets 27, Cowboys 24
Game Recap
The Cowboys put the Jets in an early 10-0 hole thanks to a touchdown pass from Tony Romo to Dez Bryant in the first quarter and a field goal by Dan Bailey in the second quarter. It looked like that was going to be the score heading into halftime, but Mark Sanchez got the Jets on the board with a touchdown pass to Dustin Keller to make it 10-7.
About midway through the third quarter, Romo would strike again, this time hitting Miles Austin for a 36-yard touchdown pass to make it 17-7. The only scoring the Jets did in the quarter came on a field goal by Nick Folk.
Just 10 seconds into the fourth quarter, the Cowboys would grab their largest lead of the night when Felix Jones scored a touchdown on a one-yard scamper. That made it 24-10, and it looked at the time like the Jets were finished.
But not quite. Sanchez found Plaxico Burress for a 26-yard touchdown a few minutes later, and the comeback was officially on.
After pulling to within seven, the Jets very nearly let it slip away when the Cowboys got down inside their five-yard line. But Romo fumbled the ball after being sacked, and the Jets were able to pick it up to keep their deficit at seven. However, they failed to score.
On Dallas' next possession, the Jets succeeded in forcing a three-and-out. That's when disaster struck for the Cowboys, as Mat McBriar's punt was blocked by Joe McKnight. The ball was picked up by Isaiah Trufant, who took it in for what would prove to be the game-tying score.
With less than a minute to go, the Cowboys had the ball and a chance to go ahead, but Romo had a pass picked off by Darrelle Revis. He took it all the way down to the Cowboys' 34-yard line, and Folk drilled a 50-yard field goal that would ultimately give the Jets a 27-24 lead.
Player That Emerged
Cowboys inside linebacker Sean Lee was a pleasant surprise. A second-year player out of Penn State, Lee started in place of Keith Brooking and proceeded to rack up a game-high 11 tackles. He also had an interception that he nearly took to the house. Not bad for a guy playing in place of a five-time Pro Bowler.
Injury News
The Cowboys lost cornerback Orlando Scandrick in the second quarter, and he was unable to return. The word from ESPNDallas.com's Todd Archer after the game was that Scandrick suffered a sprained right ankle. He could return to practice next week.
It didn't get any better for the Cowboys after Scandrick left. Cornerback Mike Jenkins hurt his left shoulder in the fourth quarter, and he also had to leave the game. At the time, his injury left the Cowboys with just two healthy cornerbacks.

What Lies Ahead for Cowboys
The Cowboys will be on the road again in Week 2, this time in San Francisco to take on the 49ers. The Niners beat the Seattle Seahawks 33-17 on Sunday to get off to a 1-0 start.
What Lies Ahead for Jets
The Jets have another home game in Week 2, as they will be hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags put up just 16 points in their first game sans David Garrard, but still managed to beat the Tennessee Titans, 16-14.
