Derrick Rose Video: Reigning MVP Puts on Puppet Show in Taiwan Interview

Kyle VassaloJun 7, 2018

It's not very often that you see NBA superstars playing with dolls, at least not in public, but that's exactly what happened at a press conference in Taiwan while Derrick Rose was on his Adidas promotional tour.

Rose put on a mini puppet show, promoted Adidas and got some laughs from onlookers in the process. It's refreshing to see the reigning MVP, and one of the faces of the NBA, show that he isn't too cool to cut loose and let his guard down from time to time.

Rose is clearly one of the most exciting players in the league. Last year he went from being an All-Star to being one of the faces of the NBA.

While some players over the years like Shaquille O'Neal have routinely been transparent with the public and openly playful with the media, Rose has been routinely misrepresented.

There were questions about a grading scandal that may have taken place all the way back when Rose was still in high school. It was said that someone may have taken the SAT for Rose in order to help him get into college.

Then there was a picture released of Rose throwing up a gang sign, and some speculated he may be affiliated with Gangster Disciples and there was also speculation that the room the picture was taken in may have been filled with smoke, rather than blurry. Rose insisted it was a joke gone terribly wrong.

He hasn't exactly been able to keep his nose clean, but he still hasn't done anything heinous enough to deserve the poor reputation some refuse to let Rose shake.

This is a small act, one that will probably go unnoticed by the majority of the world, but it's one step closer to rebuilding his image.

Rose is a young player who is already the best point guard in the league. He's not going to completely reshape the way some choose to see him, due to the negative attention he's attracted, but in the end the general public will see Rose for what he is, an all-around good guy.
