NBA Free Agents 2011: 4 Things Jamal Crawford Brings to the Table

Jeffrey McKinneyJun 7, 2018

Although Atlanta Hawks star Josh Smith has been in trade rumors, one of their best assets is actually a free agent.

Jamal Crawford has only been with the team for two years, but they have been two of the most successful years of his career.

Crawford was one of the team's leading scorers while coming off the bench and helped the team get to the playoffs the past two seasons.

Crawford is an NBA free agent that should not fly under the radar this season. Here are four things he brings to the table.

Solid Scoring

1 of 4

If there is one thing Crawford can do, it’s flat-out score.

Crawford averages 15.4 points for his career. He’s nearly an 84 percent free throw shooter and hits 35 percent of his threes.

Although he usually comes off the bench, Crawford has had a few 50-point games.

Crawford also holds the NBA record for four-point plays.

Shake-N-Bake Crossover

One of the things Crawford is known for is his sick crossovers.

NBA stars like Dwyane Wade, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen have all fallen victim to Crawford’s handles.

One of the main moves Crawford was known for is the “shake-n-bake.”

This cross over features a behind the back move that ends with an easy layup or shot.

A Good Spark off the Bench

3 of 4

In 2010 Crawford won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award.

While coming off the bench for the Atlanta Hawks the past two seasons, Crawford averaged 16 points, becoming one of the team's leading scorers.

Crawford's role coming off the bench has been an important one for the Hawks, and could be important for another team in need of a scorer.

Experience

4 of 4

At age 31, Crawford has played in the league for 11 seasons.

Throughout that time Crawford has played for the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Golden State Worriers and, most recently, Atlanta Hawks.

Although Crawford has only been to the playoffs with the Hawks twice, he has put up good numbers throughout his career.

Crawford has also been a go-to guy down the stretch when needed and could provide some good help to a team in need of a shooting guard.
