Dwight Howard Dunk Video: Watch Superman Throw Down on a Giraffe

Andrew KulhaSep 1, 2011

You know that the NBA is in the middle of a lockout when word gets out that star player Dwight Howard is dunking on exotic animals.

The last time I saw a giraffe it was at the zoo, and I assume that you can see many of them if you go on a safari.

Apparently anything is possible during a lockout though, and Howard proved that when he brought the safari to the hardwood.

We’ve grown used to watching our favorite NBA stars have events and play in charity games as of late. To be honest, what else do they have to do?

At least they are doing something to keep themselves active, and it’s helping other people!

As is normally the case though, Howard had to take it up another notch. Apparently dunking on a giraffe was the best way to do it.

Now, if you know anything about Howard than this is probably not a surprising event. He is known as the goofball of the NBA, and sometimes it even leaves him open to criticism. Some feel that he doesn’t take the sport or his skills seriously enough, and that if he really dedicated himself to being great he could be one of the best of all time.

That is a discussion for a completely different time though, because right now he is dunking on giraffes, and that is awesome.

Now, I hate to be a buzzkill, but the truth of the matter is that it was not a real giraffe.

Not only would that be near impossible, but I think it would be highly illegal.

Still, dunking on a fake Giraffe is nothing to scoff at.

Howard and his crew attached a basketball rim to this towering toy Giraffe and he gave the folks of Japan quite a treat.

Remember kids, you can do whatever you put your mind to…
