Fantasy Football Rankings 2011: Top Fantasy Options in NFC West

Eric BallJun 7, 2018

The NFC West may not be the greatest division in football, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of fantasy options.

Here are some of the best bets heading into 2011:

Arizona Cardinals

This team has four players to think about.

QB Kevin Kolb is nothing better than a backup at this point—too much of an unknown to blow a high pick on.

Beanie Wells looks like he’s finally ready to surpass the 1,000-yard barrier. He’s fully healthy and doesn’t have Tim Hightower stealing TDs. There are high expectations for the former first-round pick this season.

Todd Heap is the new tight end in town and he’ll once again be a formidable option for your fantasy team. He will be the safety valve for Kolb as he adjusts to the new offensive schemes.

Last but not least—Larry Fitzgerald. He’s a top-three fantasy receiver in the NFL and worth a second-round selection.

Aside from their QB, this team is chalk full of talent at virtually every position.

The entire back seven of the defense is one of the best in the league. They will be able to endure multiple injuries and still put forth a top-flight group of ball-hawking players. Selecting their 49ers D/ST is not a bad idea.

Offensively they added Braylon Edwards to a group of playmaking receivers that include Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis—two former first-round picks. Davis is a top-three tight end in fantasy and Crabtree, despite the foot injury, is a great flex option.

Frank Gore is an extremely consistent back that is good for at least 1,000 yards every season. Yet the hip injury of last year is still a concern going forward. I’d avoid Gore, especially after getting the new contract. His motivation is gone.

New QB Tarvaris Jackson really limits the potential fantasy options for the entire offense.

They will be relying on a huge year from Marshawn Lynch. He’s a decent back to stash on your bench for when the byes and injuries begin to pour in.

Aside from a late-round flier on WR Mike Williams, nobody is going to be a great pickup on the Seahawks.

St. Louis Rams

QB Sam Bradford is on the cusp of being a starter, but would make a great backup for now. Mike Sims-Walker is the No. 1 target and will be catching around 80 passes this season. She is a great steal in the second half of your draft.

Steven Jackson is always a reliable fantasy option and is worthy of a late first- or early second- round pick.

Looks like the 49ers surprisingly have the best fantasy options in the division despite a mediocre, at best, QB.
