5 Reasons Tom Brady Will Have His Best Year Yet in 2011
It's hard to have the best season of your career when just a few seasons ago (2007) you had one of the best seasons of any player in the history of the National Football League.
With the questions to Peyton Manning's health, it's hard to find any analyst who doesn't have Tom Brady as the most dominant quarterback in the NFL.
Here are five of the reasons why 2011 will be Tom Brady's best season of his soon to be hall of fame career.
5. The Offense Has Been Hot in the Preseason
1 of 5Brady didn’t play in their first preseason game, but that didn’t slow down this dynamic offense.
In the Pat’s second preseason game, Brady made his return, completing 11 of 19 passes for 118 yards and two scores. You can tell this offense is loaded.
It’s just the preseason, but this offense looks like it might be the best in the NFL. They’re that good.
4. Rob Gronkowski
2 of 5Now in his second year removed from the University of Arizona, Gronkowski has been one of the best young tight ends in the National Football League.
Grownkoski’s the exact reason why the TE position is one of the most difficult to defend.
At 6”6’ and 265 LBS, he’s too big for skinny corner backs to cover. He’s way too fast for a linebacker to cover. A defense’s best bet is with a safety, but it seems nobody can cover him
Grownkoski will have a breakout season in 2011, and it will be largely because of Brady.
3. Wes Welker
3 of 5It’s pretty well known how good Welker is.
He won’t blow you away with his speed. Nor will he impress you with his strength. It’s his energy and hustle that sets him apart. And Brady is so good at finding him and the other small Patriots receivers.
Brady and Welker will again be one of the best quarterback-receiver combos in 2011.
2. Chad Ochocinco
4 of 5The Patriots just didn’t look the same when Randy Moss left the team.
That deep play threat wasn’t the same, but it appears that the Patriots have that guy again.
Head coach Bill Belicheck is great at getting the best out of his players, and maybe Ochocinco (or whatever the hell his last name is now) will finally be a team player.
He certainly can’t blame the quarterback anymore.
Brady and Ochocinco will hook up for at least 10 scores, maybe upwards of 15 or 20.
This could end up being a nightmare for defenses.
1. The Patriots Aren’t the Center of Attention Anymore
5 of 5I’m not saying that the Patriots aren’t preseason favorites by many. That would be stupid.
I’m not saying that people are forgetting about them. Again, that would be flat out wrong.
What I am saying is that teams like the Jets and Eagles are getting more recognition than in years past for a few reasons, the biggest reason being their offseason acquisitions.
Everyone already knows that the Patriots will be in contention for the Super Bowl, but other teams made big splashes this hectic offseason and are getting lots of national recognition.
Never turn your back on Tom Brady; he’ll make you pay.
The Patriots are right where they want to be. Tom Brady will win the MVP.
