Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Latest Gossip on Samir Nasri, Gary Cahill and Jadson
Robin van Persie has been named the new captain of Arsenal ahead of today's clash with Udinese in the Champions League Playoff round as manager Arsene Wenger continues to search the transfer market for possible additions.
It continues to look like Samir Nasri will eventually be making his way to Manchester City following a report in The Sun about the backlash the midfielder has been receiving from fans.
Nasri called the fans “disrespectful” while Wenger came to his defense, stating, “Our players need the fans' support.”

The fans' anger is just the latest twist in a process that has been drawn out far too long. Nasri clearly prefers the bigger contract that would come with a move to Manchester City but isn't ready to deal with the consequences after balking at Arsenal's offer.
Nasri has been one of the point men in Arsenal's tremendous passing scheme that hasn't always led to strong goal scoring numbers. He scored 10 goals in English Premier League play last season, but his success rate on shots was 12 percent.
By comparison, Robin van Persie and Theo Walcott had shooting percentages of 19 and 13, respectively. With Nasri holding all of the power in the situation, it might be best for Wenger to move the disgruntled midfielder before the situation gets more heated.
In other news, Mirror Football is reporting that Arsenal have agreed on a transfer fee for midfielder Emmanuel Eboue. Eboue had worn out his welcome in North London after disappointing performances with the starting squad, so his days at Emirates Stadium are over.
The Ivory Coast international will be joining Galatasaray of the Turkish Super League. It's a smart move for all parties involved. Eboue wasn't going to earn sufficient playing time with the Gunners, so Galatasaray will provide him with the playing time he desires.
Gary Cahill got off to a strong start with the Bolton Wanderers last weekend, so if the Gunners interest is legitimate, they should snatch him up before the price rises any higher.
Cahill struck a terrific bending shot from just outside the box to give Bolton a 1-0 lead right before halftime in their clash with the Queens Park Rangers.
The Daily Mail posted a piece about the asking prices for Wenger's top targets, with Cahill checking in at £15 million. That is a reasonable price to pay to fill the void at center-back for Arsenal.
It's a position that will be exposed against the top flight teams even though it survived a lesser test against QPR.
The Metro reported a couple days ago that Arsenal have interest in Shakhtar Donetsk star and Brazilian international Jadson. The paper reported a fee had already been agreed to, but Wenger has shot down those claims.
The fee for Jadson would hover around £10 million, which would be a steep price to pay for a player that wouldn't solve the Gunners goal scoring issues. He would fit in his the quick passing ways of Arsenal though and Wenger shouldn't afraid to take a risk, especially if Nasri exits.
It is taking awhile for the chips to fall, but once they do, they should start moving around pretty quickly.
