Rewriting WWE History, Vol 2: The WCW and ECW Invasion Angle Part II

Welcome to my revising WWE history series. I revised the Nexus and the Raw GM angles for my first volume. Read parts 1, 2 and 3 at your convenience.

For this angle, I highly recommend you read part I to familiarize yourself with part II.

Raw

Eric Bischoff is now the official Raw GM after WCW's victory over WWE at Summerslam.

Bischoff introduces the World Heavyweight Championship. Bischoff says he will have a battle royal amongst WCW superstars to determine the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Bischoff says the battle royal will be next week. Also next week, he will reveal the man who cost Steve Austin his match against Hulk Hogan.

Smackdown

Paul Heyman celebrates Brock Lesnar's victory over Rock. All of the ECW members come out to celebrate with the big fat walrus.

Heyman announces Lesnar will defend his WWE Championship at the first ever Invasion pay-per-view against Kurt Angle.

Angle earned his title shot after defeating the Undertaker at Summerslam. Angle comes out and stares down Lesnar.

The Olympic Gold Medalist lures Lesnar into a trap. The Smackdown roster attacks the current UFC fighter on the ramp. The ECW roster attacks the Smackdown roster. It is pure pandemonium.

Raw

Vince McMahon quietly gathers the entire WWE roster for a meeting in the locker room. Vince says the WWE must focus on eliminating both the ECW and WCW threats.

Shane McMahon suggests rearranging the roster in order to combat both WCW and ECW. He also suggests using former WCW guys misused by Bischoff. 

Vince and Stephanie remind Shane about the threat posed by ECW. Vince decides to use more technical wrestlers to combat ECW.

WWE knows they can't beat ECW at their own game, which of course is hardcore wrestling. They know they can beat WCW, because WWE did it before. 

Top guys to fight WCW: Chris Jericho, Edge, Big Show, Undertaker, Stone Cold, Triple H and Shawn Michaels.

Top guys to fight ECW: Kane, Chris Benoit, Christian, Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero and Kurt Angle.

Stephanie McMahon also suggests that they pay off a WCW guy to spy for them. Vince agrees. Shane definitely digs it.

Eric Bischoff reveals the mystery assailant as Goldberg.

The WCW battle royal comes down to Hulk Hogan and Goldberg. Goldberg is about to throw Hogan over the top rope when Stone Cold throws Goldberg over the top rope to give the win for Hogan. Austin also gives Hogan a stunner for his effort.

Stone Cold grabs a mic and challenges Goldberg to a match at the Invasion pay-per-view. Goldberg accepts.

Invasion

On the Raw side, Stone Cold Steve Austin faces Goldberg in a dream match for the ages. Hulk Hogan defends his World Heavyweight Championship against Triple H in a No Holds Barred match.

Shawn Michaels goes up against Kevin Nash and Scott Hall in a handicap match. Chris Jericho faces Ric Flair in a submission match. Booker T defends his United States Championship against the Big Show in a ladder match. Vince McMahon faces Eric Bischoff in a street fight.

On the Smackdown side, Brock Lesnar defends his WWE Championship against Kurt Angle. Rob Van Dam defends his Intercontinental Championship against Chris Benoit.

Jericho makes Flair submit to the Walls of Jericho to open the pay-per-view. Booker T retains the United States Championship against Big Show. Nash and Hall overwhelm Shawn Michaels.

Rob Van Dam retains his Intercontinental Championship against Chris Benoit. McMahon defeats Eric Bischoff in the street fight after interference from Paul Heyman. Lesnar and Hogan retain their gold as well. Austin defeats Goldberg in a great match.

Raw

Bischoff cuts a promo saying how wretched ECW is. He demands Paul Heyman apologize for costing him the street fight against Vince McMahon.

Backstage, Shane McMahon approaches Booker T. McMahon offers him a million dollars to defect to the WWE. Booker T accepts the offer immediately.

Vince McMahon interrupts an Eric Bischoff promo. McMahon challenges the WCW head to a elimination tag match at Survivor Series. Bischoff accepts immediately.

Smackdown

Heyman cuts a promo saying he won't apologize for costing Bischoff the match. In fact, Bischoff should apologize for stealing ECW's talent.

Mick Foley interrupts him. After a lengthy discussion, they agree to a elimination tag match at Survivor Series to determine ownership of Smackdown.

Foley says his team will be Kane, Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Foley himself.

Heyman says his team will be Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Rhyno and the Sandman.

The tag match will be contested under hardcore rules. Brock Lesnar will defend the title against Big Show.

Survivor Series

To open up the show, the WCW "B" team of Scott Steiner, Buff Bagwell, Lance Storm, Diamond Dallas Page and Booker T defeat the WWE "B" team of Edge, Billy Gunn, X-Pac, Jesse James and Mark Henry. Steiner and DDP are the last two standing.

Trish Stratus retains the Women's Championship from Victoria in a hard-fought match.

Big Show wins the title from Brock Lesnar after WCW wrestlers storm the ring and beat down on Lesnar. Big Show officially declares his allegiance to WCW.

Now it's Team Smackdown vs. Team ECW for the right to own Smackdown. The last two in the ring are Mick Foley and Rob Van Dam. RVD finally wins in a classic ECW-style match.

The Big Fat Walrus is in control of Smackdown! Mick Foley hits the unemployment line!

Up next is Team WCW vs. Team WWE for sole ownership of WCW and WWE.

Vince McMahon agrees to put his controlling stake of WWE on the line in exchange for total control of WCW. This is the culmination of the Monday Night Wars.

Team WCW is Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Goldberg and Scott Hall

Team WWE is Steve Austin, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Chris Jericho

It is going to be a war!

Remember, Booker T is secretly a WWE spy. 

After 10 minutes, Chris Jericho is the first man eliminated as Y2J runs into Goldberg's spear/jackhammer combination.

Five minutes later, Big Show knocks Undertaker out with his newly-won WWE Championship belt.

Now it's Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin vs. all five of WCW's members. Scott Hall is the first WCW man eliminated after he receives a stunner.

Booker T comes out of nowhere and smashes Goldberg with a chair. Stone Cold quickly pins Goldberg to even the score. But Booker T hits Stone Cold with that same chair.

Booker T is a double agent!

Now it's Triple H and Shawn Michaels vs. Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash and Ric Flair.

Kevin Nash is the next man eliminated after receiving a Pedigree from Triple H. Hulk Hogan eventually takes care of the game.

Shawn Michaels battles Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. Flair and Hogan manage to wear down HBK. Unfortunately for Flair, he listened to a beautiful tune of Sweet Chin Music in spite of his efforts.

Now it's Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels for all the marbles.
