Wimbledon 2011 Results: Novak Djokovic Will Fall to Rafael Nadal in Finals
Novak Djokovic is currently defeating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga as we speak. He won the first set, 7-6, though unconvincingly, as Tsonga looks quick and powerful.
Tsonga, the man who took out Roger Federer after being down two sets, made a brilliant acrobatic play stretching his racket as he was getting up from the ground.
Still, Djokovic has the lead and looks to be playing with a new sense of serenity in the second set. He looks to be free of all tension and will without a shadow of a doubt meet Rafael Nadal in the final.
He may be the one man who can take down Rafa, given his confidence and skill set, but he will fall to the pressure of battling Nadal. Rafa is determined to repeat this year as he battled through a heel injury and looked quick and sharp against American Mardy Fish.
The No. 1-seeded Spaniard is simply locked into a zone all to himself.
His serve has been more accurate. He looks quicker and faster maneuvering the court. He is superior while playing up at the net and has advanced court awareness that Novak has yet to obtain through the force.
As badly as Novak wants to be in the same conversation as Rafa and Federer, he still is not yet there. He is on a tier alone, but it is still right beneath Federer and Nadal, who sit together on the grand perch above the rest.
Rafa has just been too dominant in this year’s tournament to crumble to the usually cocky Djokovic. As great as it would be for tennis to see Djokovic break through his glass ceiling, Rafa knows how to keep his foot on his opponent’s throat and make him struggle.
Above all, Rafa is too intelligent and crafty to fall to Djokovic this year.
Nadal is an unstoppable force and will take home back-to-back Wimbledon championships as he continues to unleash his wrath on the tennis world as one of the greatest players to ever grace the hallowed court.
