2011 NBA Mock Draft: Markieff Morris Highlights and Pro Projections
2011 NBA Mock Draft Has Markieff Morris' Draft Stock Rising, But Where Will He Land?
You would think that with all of the shaky prospects in this year's draft, that Markieff Morris would be getting more attention.
Morris isn't the smoothest offensive player in this draft, but there are few talents in this crop of prospective rookies that have the athleticism that the Kansas product brings to the table.
It will take work to bring his offense to the point where he can take over games, but with his explosive talent, it is only a matter of time before he gets there and starts terrorizing opposing defenses.
Despite that raw talent, Morris will be drafted behind his brother Marcus, who is much more polished on the offensive end, but in the end, it will be Markieff who ends up being the better pro player.
However, teams are going to shy away from him, even though he reportedly wowed the Pistons at his workout this week. Look for Morris to fall out of the lottery and get scooped up by a playoff team, either Indiana or Philadelphia, both of which could use a big man.
The Sixers are a best-case scenario for Morris, who would be playing in his home town with Elton Brand there to mentor him and fix the flaws in his offensive game.
Right now, I have Morris landing with the Pacers, but you can check out the rest of my mock draft below.
