NBA Finals 2011: Watch Video of Cleveland Celebrate 'Mavaliers' Championship
Dirk Nowitzki, Rick Carlisle and the Dallas Mavericks have won the 2011 NBA Finals over LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat.
The Mavericks may be the team getting the rings, but don't tell that to the city of Cleveland.
When LeBron betrayed the city by taking his talents to South Beach, every single Cavaliers fan officially made whoever is playing the Miami Heat their second-favorite team. One fan even went on to say she was rooting for the "Mavaliers." With the Heat loss on Sunday night, the Cavaliers won just as much as the Mavericks.
Former Cavs player Mo Williams was still part of the team when LeBron made his decision to leave. He tweeted after the Mavericks' Game 6 victory that: "Dallas just healed my HEART........" I'm sure more Cavaliers will let their voice be heard in the days to come; Dan Gilbert without a doubt.
Speaking of Gilbert, his promise to the city, unlike LeBron's, can still be fulfilled: "I personally guarantee that the Cleveland Cavaliers will win an NBA Championship before the self-titled former 'king' wins one."
Congratulations, Dallas. Congratulations, Cleveland.
