Broox AndersonJun 12, 2011

The Dallas Mavericks sealed their 2011 NBA season with a 105-95 victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday.

The Mavs were led by Jason Terry's 27-point performance, along with Dirk Nowitzki's 21.

In the six-game series, Dallas lost Games 1 and 3, but countered with incredible victories in games 2, 4, 5 and 6.

The Heat went just 20-of-33 from the free-throw line, made just seven of 23 three-point shots, committed 17 turnovers, and, during the last six minutes of the game, seemed to completely fall apart.

Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki was named the NBA Finals MVP, and averaged over 26 points and 10 rebounds per game during the six-game series. It was a stunning sight to finally see Nowitzki hold up the long-sought-after Larry O'Brien trophy!

On another note, 38-year-old Jason Kidd added that he would "...be around for two or three more years," when asked about his future with the current group of players in Dallas.

The Dallas Mavericks have won their first championship in franchise history and have claimed the 2011 NBA title by defeating the Miami Heat.
