NFL Free Agency Speculation: Latest Terrell Owens Rumors and Speculation
Terrell Owens will likely leave the NFL as one of the best receivers of all-time, but will often be remembered for many of his on-the-field antics that gave him a poor reputation around the league.
From his days with the Philadelphia Eagles (where he argued both on and off the field with Donovan McNabb) to his press conference (where he cried for Tony Romo, calling him both his quarterback and his teammate) there are many memories of T.O. in the back of everyone's mind.
However, with No. 81 coming off of a productive season with the Cincinnati Bengals and entering free agency for the third straight year, we are left speculating and debating about the future of Owens' football career.
Tank Johnson Says Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco Were Too Much
1 of 6
During a radio interview on Sirius XM, Bengals DT Tank Johnson discussed the lack of chemistry in the Bengals locker room last season.
Aaron Wilson of National Football Post recapped the story and pointed to this quote specifically from Johnson about the debacle in Cincinnati:
""Fast forward a few months, Carson wants out, Marvin Lewis and Mike Brown are calling out Chad through the media, Cedric is still upset at the lack of carries and T.O. isn’t even mentioned anymore."
"
Owens won't be a Bengal next season and will be looking for another place of employment once the lockout is lifted. He struggled to find a chance last season and it would be surprising if anyone jumped at the chance to sign him even with the productive year he had last season.
Terrell Owens Offers His Services to New York Jets
2 of 6
In January, on the T. Ocho Show, both Owens and Chad Ochocinco stated that they would like to play Rex Ryan's New York Jets if they lose out on Braylon Edwards or Santonio Holmes.
ESPN quoted the dynamic duo's thoughts on joining the Jets,
""They will make it to this point every year," Ochocinco said about the Jets, who made it to their second-straight AFC Championship Game. "I'd do anything to play for someone like Rex Ryan or anyone who has that type of mentality."
"
"I'm jumping on that bandwagon, too, because I was thinking the exact same thing, Chad," Owens said.
The chances of the Jets bringing in the dynamic duo are likely pretty slim, but they may consider bringing in one of the two. After the debacle in Cincinnati last season, the Jets shouldn't make the mistake that the Bengals made last season in bringing in "Batman and Robin."
Terrell Owens Would Love to Catch Passes from St. Louis Rams
3 of 6
Roger Hensley of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch was the first to report Owens' interest in joining the Rams following a tweet from Owens on Twitter.
"It started simply this afternoon with a question to soon-to-be free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens via Twitter: “How’d you like to be catching passes from Sam Bradford next season?”
Within minutes the response from Owens came back: “Would love it.”
"
Owens joining the Rams makes sense, as they are in need of a big-play receiver for Sam Bradford. The Rams may not to want to bring in a player with the character issues of Owens, but if they can sign him to a one-year deal, the risk may be worth it for St. Louis.
Where Will Terrell Owens Land?
4 of 6
Terrell Owens was not much of a hot commodity last season when he was available, so it will be interesting to see which teams are interested when the lockout is lifted.
The St. Louis Rams will be one of the obvious choices, as they are a team on the rise that really needs a play-making receiver.
However, following are two other teams who may show interest in the former Pro Bowl receiver.
Washington Redskins

The Washington Redskins are going to be desperate for a receiver this offseason if they are unable to retain the services of Santana Moss.
The Redskins drafted Leonard Hankerson with their third-round pick in this year's draft and are hoping he can turn into their No. 1 receiver opposite of last year's breakout player, Anthony Armstrong.
Washington will enter next season extremely young at the WR position and could use a veteran player like Terrell Owens, but Mike Shanahan may not want to bring in another player with character concerns.
However, there is no denying that the Redskins have a significant need at the receiver position and need to add a player once the lockout concludes.
Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears have been searching for an impact receiver for years. Terrell Owens could be the stop-gap receiver the Bears need as an impact receiver until they find a long-term solution.
Owens could thrive in a strong Chicago locker room that may be able to keep him under wraps and help him to win a Super Bowl.
Jay Cutler needs a premier weapon to throw the ball to and Owens could be that player. Owens caught double-digit touchdowns and had nearly 1,000 receiving yards in 14 games last season; Chicago could certainly use that production at the WR position.
