NBA Finals: Is This Miami Heat Celebration What Turned Game 2 Around?

Brian GoldsmithJun 3, 2011

With seven minutes to go and a 15 point lead, the Heat appeared to have the Game 2 victory in the bag. Dwyane Wade just hit a three, then stopped to pose in front of the Mavs bench leaving his arm still extended. Timeout.

As Wade walked back to the Heat bench, LeBron James (who, along with Chris Bosh, is required by contract to scream and stare in to the crowd for at least three seconds after every dunk) walked backwards in front of Wade jawing assumed congratulatory words to Wade before an inspired round of shadow boxing.

Apparently, this pissed the Mavs right off, and they proceeded to go on a 22-5 run to close out the game, and earn the victory.

After the game, a few Mavs said the early celebration angered them. Wade and James said it was no big deal. Whatever it was, it truly seems to be the turning point in the game.
