Legend Larry Bird Decides to Come Back to Indiana, Once Again
It has been confirmed, Larry Bird has decided to come back and remain as the Pacers' team President. Before the start of the 2010 season, Larry stated that if the Pacers failed to make the playoffs, then he would not return.
Giving the Bulls a run for their money, they did make the playoffs, and did a pretty darn good job. Unfortunately, they lost in the opening round, but it is still improvement.
On Tuesday Bird had met with Herb Simon, the owner of the Indiana Pacers.
“I’m quite pleased with the success we experienced this past season and pleased with the direction our team is going,” team owner Herb Simon said. “I’m glad Larry is staying to help us continue in the positive direction we are going.”
With developing talent like star forward Danny Granger, center Roy Hibbert and power forward Tyler Hansbrough, it is a great choice for Bird to come back and give the team the boost.
Indiana has been a joke in the league that past couple of years, and this year was finally their time to break out and show the league that they can be a contender. They have a lot of young potential, and it may not help them now, but in a year or two, they will be glad to have such a talented core.
Bird as the President gives the team a great image, and his return will fuel the team even more.
