Agent Zero Bio! He's Injured...Again!

Brandon RibakOct 16, 2008
Gilbert Arenas has had a few bumps in his NBA career and these injuries are what has stopped him from becoming one of the best players in the game.
Agent Zero was named the NBA's Most Improved Player during the 02-03 NBA season. After this event, Gilbert experienced a struggle to stay healthy for the seasons to come.
In the 03-04 season, Gilbert appeared in 55 games leading his team in minutes per game, points per game, and assists per game. He missed 27 games after sustaining an abdominal injury.

In the 04-05 season Gilbert stunned the league appearing in 80 games, averaging 25.5 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, and 5.1 assists per game. Not to mention he finished in the Top Ten in the NBA in minutes per game, three-point field goals made, steals per game, points per game, and free throws made.
In the 05-06 season Gilbert appeared in 80 games once again, averaging a career-high 29.3 points per game. Agent Zero also set a new NBA record for most points scored in a game by a player who played 30 or fewer minutes. He scored 46 points that game…by the way.
The ongoing injuries are the reasons why Gilbert has never been able to show his full elite potential in the NBA.
In the 06-07 season, on April 4, 2007, Gilbert tore his lateral meniscus in his left knee leaving him no other option than to have season-ending surgery.
In the 07-08 season Gilbert was ranked among the elite players in fantasy NBA all around. The players that drafted him before the season started know what I’m talking about. Gilbert's value deteriorated when he underwent a second surgery to repair a partial meniscus tear in the same knee. He was expected to miss three months of action.
Gilbert came back to action five months later, giving all hope to the fantasy owners who actually kept him on their bench the entire season! But guess what?! 28 days after returning to the court, Gilbert announced that he was done for the season after stating that his knee fails to respond positively.
September 17, 2008 Arenas has his knee operated on for the third time to remove lingering debris, which believed to cause him pain and discomfort. He is expected to be back mid-December for the 08-09 season.
Besides for the fact that the fantasy owners who drafted Gilbert Arenas in the 07-08 season lost all hope to win their league, and the injuries that Gilbert periodically has. Gilbert Arenas is one of the most exciting NBA players to watch. From the way he throws his shirt to the crowd after every single game, to the free throw ritual where he puts the ball behind his back three times before he shoots his free throws, to becoming the first Wizard since Michael Jordan to score 40+ points in consecutive games.
AGENT ZERO IS THE MAN.
