Rajon Rondo Interview: Watch Boston Celtics Star Confuse Lisa Salters
Rajon Rondo's interview shows that the Celtics guard didn't finish med school.
In Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo suffered a gruesome elbow injury in last night's 97-81 win over the Miami Heat.
He was tangled up with Dwyane Wade in the third quarter, and Rondo fell to the ground landing awkwardly. Rondo came off the floor seemingly in terrible pain, only to return at the start of the fourth quarter to score a pair of buckets and dish out a few dimes.
Despite the triumphant return, his availability for Game 4 in Boston is up in the air.
After the game, Rondo's head coach Doc Rivers said,
"“It’s a major concern. You can play a lot with adrenaline...Honestly, moving forward we’ll have to see, but it’s going to be interesting.”
"
Still, don't tell Rondo that.
He seems to be pretty confident about a return....even if he doesn't quite know what kind of injury he has.
ABC's Lisa Salters asked him about his dislocated elbow, but Rondo talked about his broken elbow. See the above video.
Maybe he needs to enroll in some summer classes at the BC Medical School campus.
Hey, all kidding aside, who cares how Rondo described the injury? Broken or dislocated, it hurts, and his comeback to the game was pretty bold and brave. Remember, the Celtics were up 10 points when he left the game; things weren't exactly in dire straits.
But Rondo returned to play through the pain and helped on both ends of the court to keep the Heat from making a run. After all, if we've learned anything about the NBA playoffs (especially this year), it's that no lead is safe.
A 10- or 15- or even 20-point advantage early in the fourth quarter really means nothing. But with Rondo back on the floor, the Celtics hung onto their edge and cruised to a much needed win.
