Blake Griffin: 10 Ridiculous Dunks the LA Clippers Forward Should Attempt

Timothy RappMay 6, 2011

On last's nights episode of Conan, Blake Griffin came on the show with his NBA Rookie of the Year award. Not surprisingly, the conversation turned to Griffin's ridiculous dunk-over-a-car he pulled at this year's dunk contest.

Conan, along with Andy Richter, had a few ideas for future dunks he should try, such as jumping over a jumbo jet or dunking while dressed in a Chewbacca outfit.

Thereby making him the "Wookie of the Year," Conan quipped.

But why stop there? I thought.

And so, in honor of Conan and Blake Griffin, I have come up with 10 Ridiculous Dunks Blake Griffin Should Attempt.

In the immortal words of NBA Jam, BOOM SHACKALAKA!

10. Dunk over Conan O'Brien

1 of 10

Conan O'Brien is a tall dude, standing about 6' 4".

But Nate Robinson dunked over Dwight Howard, so we'll have to up the stakes here.

Let's put Andy Richter on Conan's shoulders and have Griffin dunk over both of them.

Epic.

9. Dunk Nate Robinson

Speaking of Nate Robinson, his dunk over Dwight Howard has become one of the most famous dunks in the history of the contest.

So why not incorporate the little guy?

With a twist, of course—I would like to see Griffin dunk Robinson, while Robinson is holding the ball. I'm not sure Robinson would agree to this, but I would definitely tune in to see this jam.

8. Dunk with Donald Sterling on His Back

3 of 10

I don't care what dunk he chooses, I just want to see Blake Griffin do it with Donald Sterling hanging on his back.

He should probably get used to carrying the brunt of Sterling's crap on his back for the duration of his career with the Clippers anyhow, so this will prep him.

7. The Maloofs

On last night's evening of The Office, Jim challenged DeAngelo Vickers' claim that he could dunk from the foul line, a la Michael Jordan.

Obviously, DeAngelo couldn't make it, but jumped off of Kevin's head, who he asked to sit underneath the hoop.

I would like Griffin to replicate this on of the Maloofs, but alter it since Griffin obviously needs no assistance to dunk.

Rather, I would like him to have one of the Maloofs sit under the hoop, who Griffin will then kick in the face as he goes up for the dunk. He could repeat it for each brother if he like.

I should add that in no way, shape, or form do either I or Bleacher Report condone violence. I would like to add, however, that I do condone theoretical violence.

6. Nothing but Net

5 of 10

Through the tunnel, over the second rafter, off of the scoreboard, a kiss off the backboard, nothing but net.

Well, in this case, nothing but a vicious dunk.

Sorry Larry, but we're gonna let Blake dunk in this version.

5. The Hotdog Shooter

6 of 10

Surely, if they can make a high-powered hot dog shooter, they could make a high-powered basketball shooter, right?

How sweet would it be to see them build one of those bad boys and launch alley-oops to Griffin from the other side of the court?

4. The Hang Glider Dunk

7 of 10

Baseball and football teams get to have all the fun, with their open-air stadiums and what have you. Surely, a basketball promotions team would love to have someone parachute onto the court.

It's not in the cards, but I think I've got the solution—hook up Blake Griffin with a hang glider, put him on top of the scoreboard, and have him hang glide down to the hoop, where he'll unleash a powerful slam.

I have no idea if the physics of this are possible and I don't care. NBA marketing managers, please make this happen.

3. Ball on Fire

8 of 10

Any mope can do a through-the-legs dunk with a regular old basketball. (Well, any NBA mope with a ridiculous vertical leap, that is.)

But it takes a real man to do it after the ball has been set on fire.

Plus, it gives the announcer an easy NBA Jam tagline to use after Griffin slams it home.

2. Speaking of NBA Jam...

9 of 10

...Blake Griffin should just do any of the dunks from this video.

Totally possible, trust me.

By the way, if people haven't settled on a nickname for Blake Griffin yet, why not just just call him NBA Jam? I mean, he's not that far off from pulling these moves.

Makes sense to me.

1. The Evel Kenevil

10 of 10

Sure, Blake Griffin can jump over a car, we get it.

But could he launch over several cars on a motorcycle, ditch the motorcycle mid-air, catch an alley-oop pass and demolish the rim with an earth-shattering dunk?

There's only one way to find out.
