Charles Barkley Video: Watch Chuck Agree to Join the CrossFit Movement on TNT
Charles Barkley Video Foreshadows Slim Mound Of Rebound?
Although it's a decade or two late, Charles Barkley might finally be turning over a new leaf and joining the "healthy lifestyle."
On TNT's halftime show, Chuck told the viewing audience that a friend's wife signed him up for Cross Fit, the training program that now has a huge burden (literally and figuratively) on its back.
If the program can't slim down Sir Charles will it be considered a national failure?
That's a tough call. Hank Haney isn't a failure for not turning Chuck into Tiger Woods. With his stubborn swing, the scientists who built RoboCop and the Six Million Dollar Man probably couldn't turn Chuck into a 10- handicapper.
But as tall an order as Haney had with Barkley, don't these people at Cross Fit have a tougher task?
We're talking about a guy who was once one of the top players in the NBA and was arguably Michael Jordan's greatest foe, having stolen the NBA MVP from him in 1993 and pushing the Bulls to a six-game series that same year. In the years since he retired, Chuck barely beat a 67-year-old Dick Bavetta in a race, and his vertical at last check was about five inches.
Regardless of what happens, I say good for Chuck for at least trying.
Don't listen to Kenny Smith or be deterred by Ernie Johnson's reference to the "Haystacks Barkley" cut out. They're just jealous because they didn't get to play hoops against Godzilla and Barney the Dinosaur in the same year
But if he does start to slim down, Chuck needs to be on the lookout for two people.
1) LeBron James, who might send pizzas and donuts to his house: If Chuck drops a few dozen pounds, who will LeBron rip in his next horrible self-serving commercial?
2) Frank Caliendo who would also have to slim down to keep doing his hilarious impression. Otherwise, the homage will be turr-i-bul.
