Chris Paul Video: Watch Paul's Bizarre Comments Following Game 4 Win over Lakers
Chris Paul Video Has Hornets Superstar Talkin' 'Bout His Momma
There are some interviews in professional sports that seem like they are doomed from the start.
This was one of those interviews.
After the New Orleans Hornets defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4 on Sunday to even the series at two games apiece, TNT's Cheryl Miller had a nice little chat with Hornets superstar Chris Paul, who had another stellar performance on the hardwood, dropping 27 points, dishing out 15 assists and grabbing 13 rebounds.
It started out fine and dandy, with Paul giving kudos to the fans of New Orleans and his family on Easter.
But when Miller asked Paul about his physical matchup with equally-competitive Lakers star Kobe Bryant, things changed for the worse.
Said Paul: "He would do me the same way. It's all in fun, but it's our livelihood. I don't care if my mother was on the court. I'd hit her too."
This was followed by Miller seemingly speeding past the quote, Paul's teammate Trevor Ariza picking him up, Miller strangely giving Ariza some props and Paul remarking, "Whoa, man, whoa."
All in the blink of an eye.
Bizarre.
I wonder what Paul's mother thought about the odd quote from the Hornets star.
I'm pretty sure she didn't like that surprise in her proverbial Easter basket.
Much worse than getting one of those marshmallow Peeps.
Just ask Charles Barkley.
