Derrick Rose Video: Watch D-Rose Show Off Amazing Athletic Ability in Game 1
Derrick Rose Video Sees Chicago Bulls Star Pull Off Amazing Sequence Against Indiana Pacers
Derrick Rose's floater in the closing minutes of the Chicago Bulls' 104-99 victory may have been the dagger in the Indiana Pacers' collective heart, but he showed midway through the first quarter why he is being highly considered for the NBA MVP award.
First, let us examine Rose's defense, the same defense that has already made him one of the most complete players in the NBA.
With Pacers point guard Darren Collison a couple of steps ahead of Rose and driving for the layup, Rose closed in faster than a raging bull and swatted his attempt back down to earth.
Exhibit B: Rose's offense.
Seconds later, Rose got the ball in his hands and proceeded to drive straight to the teeth of the Pacers' defense, spinning right in the paint then flipping up a seamless, seemingly effortless banker over center Roy Hibbert.
Right before the play, ESPN flashed a video of Hibbert saying he was going to say "Hello" to Rose when he drove to the basket in Game 1.
Translation: He was going to swat his attempts to the nearest row of seats.
Of course, announcers were quick to play on this, emphatically exclaiming "Hello!" when Rose banked home the shot right in Hibbert's grill.
It was one of those career-defining plays for Rose that should be one of many as he begins his legacy as the next Bulls icon.
As for Hibbert, I'm surprised his head didn't go "Bye bye," after Rose swung past him faster than a Chicago snowstorm.
For the record, Rose scored 39 points, dished out six assists and grabbed six rebounds.
Hibbert scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
To make matters worse, Rose blocked more shots (three) than Hibbert (one).
Hello, Derrick Rose, NBA fans welcome you to stardom.
