Portland Trail Blazers: LaMarcus Aldridge's Top 10 Dunks of the Season

Kristian WinfieldMay 4, 2011

It was simply LaMarcus Aldridge against whatever was in his path.
Anything that got into his way, this season, L.A. soared above, around, or right through for the emphatic finish. Whether it was an alley-oop, a put back dunk, or just a straight up drive-and-finish, Aldridge is a grown man when it comes to finishing in the paint. He led the NBA in alley-oops, and these are his top 10 jams from this season.

At first I thought he was running track, the way he was looping around the sideline like that. Then I saw the lob go up, and L.A. went soaring into the air for the smooth, soft alley-oop jam.

9. L.A. Splices Utah Defense

This was just one of those nights where L.A. was simply destroying the Utah Jazz defense. This play is a summation of the night for the Jazz.

8. Put It in Reverse

Sometimes, when you lead the NBA in total alley-oop buckets, you get bored with the same tomahawk finish. This time, L.A. decided to put it in reverse for the fans at the Rose Garden.

How's that for big man-to-big man love? This is like watching Pau Gasol make the smooth, extra pass to Andrew Bynum for the easy bucket down low.

6. Aldridge Cleans Up Rudy's Mess

Fernandez had to put up a desperation three-pointer with the shot clock winding down that had zero hope of dropping. But never fear, Aldridge is here!

Way to reward the big man for running the floor. Great pass from Rudy, and a great finish by Aldridge.

4. The LA Express

This was very Blake Griffin-esque to me. Aldridge isn't nearly the physical specimen that Griffin is, nor is he close to as athletic as the Rookie of the Year, but the way he brought the ball all the way up court just reminded me of him. A mix between Griffin and Joakim Noah, when he drove the ball all the way up court and finished at the hole, plus the foul in that dragged out Bulls-Celtics series last year.

3. L.A. Makes Mbah a Moute His Son

Now, I'm all for weak side help. It's a must, but sometimes you just have to take your losses and try again another time. This was one of those instances. Under no circumstances should Luc Richard Mbah a Moute have tried to even attempt to block Aldridge's dunk. And one ref; and one.

2. Aldridge Posterizes Bogut

A beautiful, euro-centric dish from Rudy with a beautiful, tomahawk finish over Andrew Bogut. It's dunks like these that put players like Bogut out of commission.

1. Blazers vs. T'Wolves: L.A. Destroys Beasley

By far Aldridge's most vicious dunk of the season, L.A. completely violates Michael Beasley while emphatically finishing this alley-oop dunk. Next time, stay on your feet, Michael. Stay on your feet.
