2011-2012 NBA Season: 10 Ridiculous Sights for Next Season

Joye PruittJun 7, 2018

Cleveland could win the NBA Finals this year. Kobe Bryant could retire. LeBron James will be kicked out of South Beach for hogging the ball. As far fetched as this ideas may be, how interesting would it be to see them happen?

We, as fans, have dedicated ourselves to watching and commenting on everything we see on the television regarding players lives on and off the court, but I have noticed that the things coming out of our mouths have become a bit redundant. Who will be responsible for shaking things up?

Well, it will not be Lakers coach Phil Jackson, who is retiring after this season whether the Lakers win a championship or not. And it will not be Popovich, the current coach for the San Antonio Spurs or any Spurs' players for that matter because they are all too firm and fundamental, with the exception of Tony Parker, to do anything ill and out of character.

I guess we will have to depend on the more flashy and controversial stars like those of Miami, Orland, New York and so forth.

Cleveland Cavaliers Will Be Eastern Conference Representation for 2012 Finals

Do not chop my head off just yet. Cleveland has a lottery pick and they could make some big strides depending on who that pick will be. Jared Sullinger and Kyrie Irving are looking very desirable at that spot and could be immediate impacts on the team if one of the two are chosen.

I know how far fetched it sounds, but anything is possible. The NBA is where amazing the happens right? Baron Davis, the newest addition to the roster, has replaced Mo Williams and while he has not been the greatest player in the world with the team, he has shown spurts of what is to come.

Rookie Manny Harris could show more growth in the next season as he has coming to this season's end. He has progressed a lot since his first game, and although he is not candidate for rookie of the year,  he provides Cleveland with a new direction—youth and speed.

LeBron James Will Make a Plea to Join Cleveland Again

Ha! I chuckled at myself for even dreaming this up. But, how awe striking would it be to see LeBron James speaking on camera saying that he wants back into Cleveland. Of course that would be to complicated to actually happen because of all the financial repercussions involved, but this is probably every Cleveland fans' dream—aside from winning the Finals.

His swift and sloppy divorce from the team was frowned upon by players, executives and the citizens in Ohio as a whole. So, to see him relinquish his ego and say that he would be happier at home is something that would be recorded and rewound for the entire year.

New York Knicks Supporter Spike Lee Speaks About Disappointment in Carmelo

When you are watching any Knicks game, you will more than likely see Spike Lee sitting on the sidelines taunting the opposing team. He has been a Knicks supporter since I can remember and has not shifted from his dedication and loyalty yet.

After Carmelo Anthony was back and forth with New Jersey and New York, the decision was ultimately made that he would reside on the Knicks roster and contribute to their offense. However, in all of the melee, no one sat back to wonder why a team with so many offensive threats already would trade for another huge offensive threat.

What the New York team needed was defense, and adding Anthony to the line up did nothing but improve upon what they were already good at. So, what if Spike Lee takes notice to this small mix up and publicly voices his opinion on the matter? What if he comes out and bashes Anthony's performance as a defensive presence?

Utah Jazz Will Reach the NBA Finals Without Deron Williams

First, the head coach announced that he would not be apart of the Utah Jazz staff anymore and then Deron Williams goes to New Jersey to play alongside Brook Lopez and Kris Humphries.

But, don't think that just because they do not have Deron Williams there, the Jazz team cannot make strides. With a new coach and roster adjustments, they will, of course, have short term issues, as far as continuing to establish roles and who will be the trusted man in the last seconds.

If Utah made it to the end next season, I could see the most shell shocked look on Deron Williams' face. To know that the moment you were replaced, your team made things happen in ways that you could not, would be the candle on the cake.

Miami Heat Will Try Their Hardest to Force out One of the Big 3

We have all seen the South Beach experiment in awe and sometimes in disgust. We have seen these players streak with the best of them and flop like the worst. LeBron James still struggles as usual in the last minutes when the game is riding on his shot, even if he is in the paint and Dwyane Wade seems to be trying to battle for his leadership role on the team.

And Chris Bosh. Well, before the past couple of games, I forgot that he was even involved in the preseason celebration. He has started to show the aggression and dominance in the low post that everyone excepted to see months ago. He is becoming more vital to the team's success.

However, is it too late? After watching the teary eyed interviews, the unfolding of Cry Gate and the loss of 20+ point leads, has Pat Riley seen enough of this on and off train wreck? He may have too strong of an ego to make the call that he was wrong and remove one of the supposedly stationery pieces, but can you truly sit back and say that you know for a fact this is the last team LeBron and Bosh will play for?

Boston Celtics Will Have a 10 Game Losing Streak

When was the last time that happened? If it has happened, I sure do not think I was watching basketball to see it. But, with the removal of Kendrick Perkins the burden of the big man falls on Glen Davis and I do not know if he is entirely ready to bear the brunt of that responsibility every game.

He is a good player, but the great thing about Boston has always been its ability to have injuries left and right but still be able to prevail based on bench depth. The quality of their bench has fallen off massively with the trade of Perkins and Robinson. Shaquille O'Neal is old. Let's face it. He can still make things happen with his size and power, but he has already stated that playing the entire stretch of a game is a little bit more than he is ready to chew.

The Jeff Green addition seems to put a little bit of youth on a team where they are mostly criticized for age, but he is only going to be able to perform well when everyone else is. Each of the starting men for the Celtics are able to get the team going or are able to push forward through the trenches even when the rest of their teammates are not playing so well.

Allen Iverson Will Come Back from Playing Overseas to Play in Philly

Allen Iverson made some comments about wanting to return to Turkey after his medical clearance, because he loves the game and he enjoys playing for the team. How many people have already considered this possibility? Be honest.

I thought about this mainly because he was the last extraordinarily relevant in Philadelphia. Andre Iguodala has taken over as the leader of the Sixers, but he does not have the talent and the speed that Iverson had in his prime.

But, that is the key word. In his prime. His attitude matched with his age and deteriorated support in the league, I am pretty sure no one, at least in the states, would want to take another chance on him. It would be rather nostalgic to see him running around in a jersey alongside Iguodala and Lou Williams.

Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant Will Retire with Phil Jackson

Kobe Bryant will most likely have to be wheeled off of the court even in his eldest age. Basketball seems to run in his blood, but I have heard the crazy assumption that he may decide to make a grand exit with coach Phil Jackson.

This is unlikely to happen, but can you see him playing for anyone else? Will anyone else be able to handle Kobe the man, the player, the brand? Phil Jackson always has this crazy way of quieting Kobe down with comments of his own and I don't know if there is another coach that will be able to react like he did in certain situations.

Sacramento/Anaheim Kings Will Break the Record for Most Wins in a Season

They have the talent and the heart to be true contenders in their region. But, if they move to Anaheim, the Kings may become irrelevant.

Tyreke Evans, Demarcus Cousins and Marcus Thornton must all be effective and healthy for them to have a good season, let alone a star struck season like that. Anything is possible. Demarcus Cousins can be the big man needed to get the defensive edge and put up the occasional jumper for a little offensive dominance.

Very far fetched, yes.

Richard Hamilton Will Be Leading Scorer and Lead Them to EC Championship

Richard Hamilton has been disrespected by the Detroit Pistons so much this season that I am surprised he even still wants to be a part of the team. I guess that is what the protest was about.

Hamilton is not the man he was in 2003 and 2004, but he still has the stamina to be very effective. If he can avoid injury and anymore squabbles with his coach, who will be dismissed sooner than later, he may improve his on court productivity and play with a chip on his shoulder.
