Knicks vs Magic Video: Watch Dwight Howard's Alley-Oop Slam in the Orlando Win
Blake Griffin may be grabbing all of the headlines for his outrageous dunks in the 2010-2011 season, but we can't forget about the former dunk champion Dwight Howard.
Tuesday night against the Knicks Howard reminded the world that he can throw it down with the best of them.
As the first quarter winds down, Hedo Turkoglu holds the ball at the three-point line. Howard beats Sheldon Williams back door and a picture-perfect alley-oop ensues.
A spot-on lob by Hedo and Howard takes care of the rest. He makes it look almost too easy as he slams it through and rocks the rim.
The Magic trailed 58-47 at halftime, but put forth a strong second half effort to defeat the new-look Knicks 116-110.
As always, Howard led the way with 30 points and 16 rebounds. He showed Knick nation that not a player on the team can guard him—especially when he goes 12-of-17 from the free throw line.
The win puts the Magic on a bit of a roll.
It's their third straight and fifth in six games. It was the second win this season over the Knicks. The two squads will play each other two more times this month.
Are the Magic starting to figure it all out?
The depth of Orlando is really starting to pay dividends as the dog days of the NBA are underway. Quentin Richardson had 10 points, J.J. Redick had 12 and Ryan Anderson had 16 on Tuesday. Gilbert Arenas didn't even play as he sat out with a sore knee.
The Magic are a tough team to figure out and have a wide range of possibilities as the playoffs come along.
They could easily be a first round flame out, but then can also win a championship. Keep an eye on the Magic as the season winds down and pay attention to the chemistry this team is starting the achieve.
