Miami Heat Fall To New York Knicks: It's No Big Deal for LeBron James & Co.
Sunday night, the New York Knicks went into South Beach and scored a much-needed victory. The game had all the makings of a playoff thriller. Each team, headlined by co-superstars, played with great intensity. The Heat started the game in its usual fashion, racing to a quick double-digit lead. LeBron James willed himself upon the Knicks, and it looked like business as usual for the Heat. However, being true to form, Miami would make critical lapses on defense and forfeit its lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire embarrassed the Heat. The duo from New York shockingly outplayed LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Their offense was not guardable, which was not surprising. What shocked everyone was the play made on defense when Stoudemire blocked a go-ahead layup by James late in the game. The Knicks played great defense down the stretch and snatched the game from Miami.
But it's just one game. Many are already jumping the gun once again in Miami and calling for heads. Sure, the Heat should have won the game convincingly, but is one game barely won by the Knicks enough to make the Heat panic? I trow not! Its record shows Miami is still one of the top teams in the league and will clearly wrap up the No. 1 seed in the East in due time. It still has the best player in the league in LeBron James and is getting better by the day.
The fact is, the Miami Heat gets every opponent's best game no matter what team is presented. Every team is in line to take a swipe at the three kings of South Beach. In the end, these tough games will only make the Heat stronger as a unit. No team will be able to go toe-to-toe with Miami in a seven-game series.
The "Heatles" will be ready come playoff time, so please stop with all the panic.
