Carmelo Anthony Traded: 'Melo Dealt To The New York Knicks

Luis BatlleFeb 21, 2011

ESPN has reports from a league source that a trade agreement has now been reached between the New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets in regards to Carmelo Anthony.

After weeks of anticipation as to where the All-Star would end up, Carmelo will now suit up as a member of the New York Knicks.

The deal reportedly sends veteran Nuggets point guard Chauncey Billups to the Knicks as well. The Nuggets will acquire the services of Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, Danilo Gallinari and Timofey Mozgov from the Knicks in the process.

The Nuggets will also get the Knicks' 2014 first-round draft pick, the Golden State Warriors' 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors' 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash.

Anthony and Billups will go to the Knicks with Anthony Carter, Shelden Williams and Renaldo Balkman.

The third team in the deal, the Minnesota Timberwolves, will get Eddy Curry and Anthony Randolph from the Knicks.

The potential starting line-up for the Knicks could be scary to say the least: with Anthony and Amare Stoudemire at the forward spots, Ronny Turiaf at center, and Billups and rookie Landry Fields in the back court.

Anthony had skipped the Nuggets' first practice after All-Star weekend.

Ladies and gentleman, the Carmelo trade talk is finally finished and in the books. Expect Spike Lee to soon wear the # 15 in blue and orange.
