NBA Trade Rumors: 10 Moves NBA Teams Can Make To Bolster Their Benches
NBA trade rumors are flying around, but not every team can land that superstar at the deadline.
However, teams can add on to their rosters and get a little depth and turn weaknesses into strengths. There are plenty of teams that can do this and with that in mind, we have 10 moves that would strengthen some benches out there.
If you have any thoughts or comments, make sure to leave them at the bottom. Who do you want your team to get at the deadline?
No. 10: Minnesota Trades for Anthony Randolph
1 of 10
The Minnesota Timberwolves would have gotten Anthony Randolph in the three-team deal that would have sent Carmelo Anthony to New York.
However, the Timberwolves reportedly believe they can land Randolph without a trade involving the Nuggets and Knicks and could send New York a first round pick, of which Minnesota has three. The Timberwolves could trade one of those picks and get a player with a lot of potential.
Randolph would be a nice addition to the Minnesota roster.
No. 9: Oklahoma City Trades for Marcus Camby
2 of 10
Marcus Camby is on the block and a team that could use a big man is Oklahoma City.
Now, the Thunder haven't really been rumored as being active in the trade market, but getting Camby would be a huge get for Oklahoma City. The Thunder have had issues in the frontcourt in the past and Camby would make Oklahoma City a big time threat.
What remains to be seen is if Camby would want to play with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City.
No. 8: Orlando Magic Sign Troy Murphy (If Bought Out)
3 of 10
Troy Murphy is a guy that is likely to be bought out after the trade deadline.
The Orlando Magic are a team that really needs a big man and Murphy looks like he could end up with the Magic, according to reports. Murphy is a guy who didn't really fit in New Jersey, but could be really productive in Orlando.
It would certainly add some depth to Orlando's front line.
No. 7: New Orleans Trades for Antwan Jamison
4 of 10
New Orleans is a team that's looking for a big man and have talked to Cleveland about Antwan Jamison.
The Hornets would have to take on his hefty salary and that's tough for New Orleans to do. It's not impossible, but it's not exactly something the Hornets are going to rush to do. Jamison would be a valuable player for New Orleans, who would team him with David West.
New Orleans has a couple large trade exceptions and expiring contract.
No. 6: Boston Celtics Trade for Anthony Parker
5 of 10
The Boston Celtics are a team that could use some depth at the guard position and Anthony Parker is a name that has been floated around.
Cleveland is looking to move Parker and could get some assets in return. However, it will be tough for Boston to make a move because it doesn't want to take on a lot of salary, so it could really hinder any move the Celtics make.
This move is a possibility, but I wouldn't expect it to happen unless the Celtics think it's necessary.
No. 5: Atlanta Hawks Trade for Ramon Sessions
6 of 10
One thing the Atlanta Hawks could use is a point guard.
After last night, Ramon Sessions is a guy whose stock is through the roof. Sessions carved up the Los Angeles Lakers and has been linked to the Hawks as a possible destination. Mike Bibby is good, but not great, so if the Hawks could get a solid backup, it would be an interesting dynamic.
It wouldn't make Atlanta a major contender, but it would be a nice move.
No. 4: New York Knicks Sign Earl Barron
7 of 10
New York is looking to get a big man to add some depth and Earl Barron is a guy that's on the radar.
Barron has been with the organization and wouldn't be an expensive move and he would fit right in with what the Knicks are doing. He could take some minutes from Amar'e Stoudemire here and there and it would be a nice addition to save his knees down the stretch.
The Knicks can't keep running Stoudemire out there for a ton of minutes.
No. 3: Dallas Mavericks Trade for Tayshaun Prince
8 of 10
The Dallas Mavericks could use a guy to fill in for Caron Butler and Tayshaun Prince is a guy that could be dealt.
Detroit has shown resistant to trade Prince, but he is an expiring contract, Butler's contract matches up nicely and Dallas could sweeten the pot to try and pry Prince away from the Pistons. It's an interesting option, but I'm not sure the Pistons would do the move if push came to shove.
Prince would be a nice fit in Dallas, though.
No. 2: Boston Celtics Sign Richard Hamilton (If Bought Out)
9 of 10
Richard Hamilton has been rumored to be on the trading block, but a buy out has also been discussed.
If Hamilton is bought out, the Boston Celtics are rumored to be interested in the shooting guard. Boston, with Hamilton in the fold, would be a dangerous team that would be deep on the bench and become an even bigger favorite in the East.
Just think about Ray Allen and Hamilton running teams off of screens. Talk about a scary thought.
No. 1: Chicago Bulls Trade for Courtney Lee
10 of 10
Courtney Lee is a name that has been floated around the trade market and the Chicago Bulls are interested.
Lee is a guy that would be an instant fit in Chicago and give the Bulls a starting shooting guard, turning a weak position into one that has some depth as Chicago pushes for the playoffs. It would be an interesting fit and one the Bulls are certainly pondering.
If Chicago pulls the trigger on this one, it would make the Bulls a team to watch for in the Eastern Conference.
