NBA Rumors: Players Who Want to Go Shopping

Joseph HigginsFeb 17, 2011

The trade deadline is less than seven days from now. Players will have to stay on their respected teams until season's end.

So who's staying and who's going?

Well anyone who has just the slightest knowledge of the NBA knows that Carmelo Anthony is the biggest player to watch in terms of what his destiny will end up being.

He recently claimed that he was going to look over the three year deal that the Nuggets gave to him one more time before his decision.

While the Anthony buzz has been going around there are some other players who are sitting in the back of the class whispering that they want to be traded. That and notes are being passed from GM to GM about proposing trades that would benefit both their teams.

A lot is going to happen in the next week, let's look at who are the players with the most potential to move about.

Tayshaun Prince

Tayshaun has never wore anything but his No. 22 Detroit Pistons jersey in his NBA career. Now he's saying that he's open to a trade.

"It would be something I'd definitely look at," Prince told The Detroit News. "Who wouldn't want be in that situation, to have an opportunity to play for another championship?"

Prince has a championship victory in his resume but that was all the way back in 2004. The next season Prince and the Pistons lost to the Spurs four games to three in the NBA Finals.

Almost seven years now Prince has been without a title and is seeking to go elsewhere in hopes to get another.

Carmelo Anthony

Where, oh where will Carmelo go?

He's not even sure just quite yet.

The latest?

Well there's been talk still about him wanting to go to New York to play for the Knicks and previously there was talk about possibly going to New Jersey.

No matter what happens though there is a likelihood of a three team trade happening, but we don't know anything yet.

But Anthony still has a new contract to consider. That. and if any of his teammates go elsewhere will both be factors of where he ultimately decides to go.

Like Prince, Anthony is going to want a championship, just like any other NBA player for that matter.

He's obviously shown that while being on Denver he just can't achieve that.

Devin Harris

Rumors are saying the New Jersey Nets staff hasn't been happy with the play and heart of Devin Harris lately.

They might want to ship him out elsewhere.

He has been considered in being dealt in the Carmelo Anthony trade, but that all depends on the wants and needs of Anthony.

Portland and New Jersey have been talking recently about trading players—Harris being the foundation of the possible trade. Andre Miller is said to be a Trail Blazer that would possibly be the foundation for Portland's side of the deal as well.

The whole team is being put up here because the organization is looking to make moves around the NBA.

As stated in the previous slide, the Portland Blazers and New Jersey Nets are looking to reach a deal that involves point guard Andre Miller.

Also there's buzz going on that the Blazers are seeking out to grab Philadelphia 76er's Marreese Speights.

A trade has been offered in return for Portland's Dante Cunningham, but there has been no movement thus far.

Going back to the possible New Jersey deal, the Trail Blazer's are said to be interested in pursuing the acquisition of Anthony Morrow.

New Jersey wants to send Travis Outlaw back to his old team (the Blazers), but nothing more has been discussed.
