Carmelo Anthony Trade Rumors: 10 Reasons He Should Sign the Nuggets' Extension
For the first time ever Carmelo Anthony spoke publicly about possibly returning to the Denver Nuggets after this season.
If he isn't traded before the deadline Carmelo said he would "take a real hard look" at re signing with Denver. The offer has been there since June. A three year deal worth $65 million.
I still think the Nuggets will trade him away. However, if they don't here are 10 reasons he should stay in Denver.

He's all kind of tatted up.
If Carmelo leaves, Chris Andersen might lose it and start putting tattoos on his face.
Spare us all Carmelo and resign.

If he doesn't resign with Denver and decides to head out west it would be a bad decision.
Carmelo has been the guy in Denver. I'm not sure how well he would handle no longer being in the spotlight. If he goes to the Lakers he'd be playing second fiddle to Kobe.
Stay and Denver Carmelo where you'll be King.
7. New York Doesn't Want Him That Bad

Think about it. If they're not willing to give up Danilo Gallinari in the deal to get Carmelo Anthony then they must not want him all that bad.
I know they're really hoping they can just sign him in the off-season and keep their team the way it is. However, other teams are interested in Anthony as well, if they wanted him that bad they would tell Denver to take whoever they want besides Amare Stoudemire.
Plus they weren't that interested in Carmelo until after LeBron broke their hearts.
6. Denver Isn't a Terrible Team
5 of 10
They're currently seventh place in the Western Conference with a 30-22 record.
The Nuggets are only four games back from fourth place. If they keep Carmelo they have a strong chance of getting hot and improving their seed.
And we know that once you're in the playoffs any team can win. All you have to do is bring your A-game and you could find yourself deep into the playoffs.
5. Denver Will Repay Him By Adding Players
6 of 10
If Carmelo resigns then Denver will repay by adding another super star to the team.
There are a number of players with expiring contracts in the coming years. They'll do what they have to do to please their All-Star player and surround him with talent.
Denver knows Carmelo wants to play with other big name players. If he stays with them they will give him what he wants.
4. Carmelo Is a Good Guy
7 of 10
Carmelo Anthony is a good guy.
If Denver keeps him for the rest of the season he's going to think long and hard about returning to the Nuggets.
He's a loyal guy and that's why he'll resign.
3. LeBron Stole The Show
8 of 10
"The Decision" ruined all future free agency signings, mainly for the big name stars. LeBron was heavily criticized for the whole event, and it was all people could talk about during the Summer.
LeBron decided to take his talents to South Beach, and people haven't stopped talking about it since.
Carmelo Anthony doesn't want to be in that situation. He can save himself from harassment by resigning with Denver.
2. Seven Good Years
9 of 10
Carmelo was drafted third overall in 2003. He has remained with Denver for his whole career.
The city and the people have been good to him. Carmelo will repay them by returning to the team.
Carmelo has the chance to be one of the players who sticks with one team is whole career. That's a rare thing these days.
1. More Money

The NBA's collective bargaining agreement comes to end after this season.
If Carmelo wants to get paid mega bucks then he'll resign with Denver. He could miss out on millions of dollars after a new CBA is reached.
