Derrick Rose: 10 Reasons He Will Soon Be the Face of the NBA

Galvin KilroeFeb 10, 2011

Derrick Rose is making an impact statistically, and in the win column for the Bulls.  He will be a starter in the All-Star game this weekend, and is poised for an MVP award.  As the Bulls march towards an extended postseason run, Derrick Rose is leading the charge every step of the way.

Not only does he appear destined to be the best player in the NBA, he will soon be the face of the NBA.

Don't believe me, here are ten reasons why.

10. Derrick Rose Highlights Are Perfect for “Where Amazing Commercials Happen”

Derrick Rose highlights are perfect for “Where amazing commercials happen.”  Whether Rose is hovering above the rim waiting for an alley-oop pass or beating three defenders in the process of completing a layup, Derrick Rose has tons of material worthy of these commercials.

9. Rose Is a Young and Rising Star Which Makes Him Especially Marketable

Rose is a young and rising star which makes him especially marketable.  He is getting more comfortable in front of the cameras, and as the NBA’s premier player, he will be in the spotlight for at least ten more years.

8. In a Few Years He Will Be the Most Electrifying Player in the Game

In a few years he will be the most electrifying player in the game.  Nobody in the NBA can do what he does.  Among rising stars in the NBA, the only player who compares is Blake Griffin, but Griffin will never do what Rose does at the top of the key.  Griffin will never be able to drive to the basket like Rose, even if his dunks are more impressive.

For the record they are not more impressive.

7. It Will Not Be Durant Because Nobody Can Even Find Oklahoma City on a Map

It will not be Durant because nobody can even find Oklahoma City on a map.  If Oklahoma was not in the name Oklahoma City, most people would not even know what state Durant played in.

Can you imagine how many NBA teams would accidentally fly to the wrong place for road games?  I believe there is some sort of man-law that states, “If you play in a city with less than a million people, you cannot be the face of the NBA.”

6. Derrick Rose Leads the Bulls to Exciting Victories Time and Time Again

Derrick Rose leads the Bulls to exciting victories time and time again.  The most exciting two minutes in sports used to be the Kentucky Derby.  Now it is watching the last two minutes of close Bulls games.

Whether the Bulls are up by a few points, or trailing by a few, Bulls fans and betters know that D Rose will find a way to win.

5. Nobody Has As Much Potential As Derrick Rose

When Derrick Rose plays to his potential, which is most of the time, he is always the best player on the floor.  It is very difficult to outperform Derrick Rose.  How can anybody be the face of the NBA when they get outplayed by Derrick Rose?  By some sort of transitive property rule, that makes him the face of the NBA.

For non-believers, last year, LeBron James had to change his assignment to stop Derrick Rose from scoring during the playoffs.  That was only Rose’s second year in the NBA.  This year he will win his first MVP award.

Expect many more from him as he fulfills his potential and destiny.

4. The Bulls Are One of the Most Prominent Franchises in the NBA

The Bulls are one of the most prominent franchises in the NBA.  Jordan made the Bulls known worldwide.  Derrick Rose will expand the international fanbase.  For all you Chicagoans, if you ever have the opportunity to travel abroad, you will constantly hear people ask you about the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan.

When outside of the states, get ready to start fielding questions about Derrick Rose.

3. Kobe Bryant Will Be Retired and LeBron James Is a Villain

Kobe Bryant will be retired and LeBron James is a villain.  Kobe is still playing ball at a top level, but his tank is nearing empty.  LeBron James no longer carries his team like before.  How can you be the best player in the NBA, when you can pass to Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade.

LeBron simply does not play as big of a role as Derrick Rose does.  Therefore, he cannot be the face of the NBA.

2. The Bulls Are on the Verge of Becoming a Dynasty

The Bulls are on the verge of becoming a dynasty.  When the Bulls start winning championships, Derrick Rose will be the most talked about player in the NBA.  Even though the Bulls are laden with talent, nobody on the team captures, nor merits as much attention as Rose.

He is going to be the best player in the NBA.

Nobody in the NBA has as much upside as Derrick Rose.

Nobody in the NBA can score like Derrick Rose.

Nobody in the NBA can attack the rim like Derrick Rose.

Nobody in the NBA can create shots like Derrick Rose.

Nobody in the NBA will be as good as Derrick Rose.

Nobody in the league is Derrick Rose, except for Rose.
