Fantasy Basketball Recap Feb. 4, 2011: Gilbert Arenas Returns to Washington

BLITZFeb 4, 2011

Gilbert Arenas' first game back in Washington ended in a blowout win for the Magic.  While he put up a pretty decent stat line with 10 points, six rebounds, six assists, two steals and one block, Dwight Howard stole the show by going 10 for 11 in the field, scoring 22 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.

Studs

LeBron James: Coming off his game scoring 51 points, he only went for 19 points tonight, but also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out nine assists.  As long as he's close to a triple-double every game, he's still the No. 1 fantasy player.

Dwyane Wade: Triple-double for Wade tonight against the Bobcats. While 22/12/10 is solid, I wish he got some steals and blocks.  The most surprising thing about Wade this season is his assist totals.  He's only averaging 4.1 assists this season.  Before the season, I expected his assist average to be around seven or eight with the addition of Mike Miller, Chris Bosh and LeBron.  Let's hope he picks it up.

Darko Milicic: Four blocks, two steals and 15 points.  This is why he does not belong in waiver wires.

Jose Calderon: Call me crazy, but I prefer his 19 assists over LeBron's 51 points.

Amir Johnson: Just when I've given up on him, he puts up 19/12/6 along with three steals and two blocks.

Elton Brand: Showed signs of his old self tonight by putting up a vintage 33 points, 16 rebounds, two steals, two blocks stat line.

Andre Iguodala: Still one of the best point forwards in the league.  Scored 18 points and dished out 16 assists.

Baron Davis: The new and improved Baron, at least for tonight's game.  Put up 22/4/13, but I would still sell high on him.

Anthony Morrow: Back in the starting lineup.  22 points and three three-pointers.  Maybe the sleeper of the second half?

Greg Monroe: Twenty-two points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks.  I think he'll have a big second half.  Don't give up on him yet.

Christian Eyenga: Had three steals and two blocks tonight.  Keep an eye on him.

J.J. Hickson: Best game of the season—31 points and 15 rebounds.  He's turned into a rebounding machine.

Vince Carter: Wow, 33 points and six three-pointers.  Seriously, if you own him on your team, you need to sell high immediately.

Duds

Michael Beasley: Scored only four points.  I still cannot believe he's averaging over 20 points per game.

JaVale McGee: It's games like tonight where I wished I didn't draft him in all my leagues.  He scored two points with no blocks.

Mike Bibby: Zero for everything tonight.

Marc Gasol: Six points and one rebound.  Still waiting for him to play like he did last season.

Manu Ginobili: Scored only nine points and played only 26 minutes, but oddly enough, he was +20 when he was on the court.
