NBA Power Rankings: The Best Buzzer-Beaters of the 2010-11 Season

Eric BallJun 2, 2018

The NBA has reached the midpoint of the 2010-11 season, and it has been one of the most exciting campaigns in recent memory.

The Spurs and Celtics are steamrolling through their respective conferences. The Heat are truly riding a roller coaster in Miami. The Magic had a complete makeover, "try to win a ring" edition, and Blake Griffin is reviving the Clippers.

The amount of spectacular plays has been incredible this season.

One of the most exciting plays in basketball is the buzzer-beater. There have already been several game-winners on the season, with the top one being an all-timer, so let's count down the top 10 of the 2010-11 NBA season.

10. J.R. Smith Dunk Beats First Quarter Buzzer

1 of 10

Not all awesome buzzer-beaters are jump shots.

Sprinting down the court as the seconds tick away, Nuggets guard J.R. Smith rocks the rim with a nasty two-handed dunk as the clock runs out in the first quarter of a game against the Spurs.

This might be one of the top five dunks of the year.

9. Monta Ellis Sends Warriors into OT

2 of 10

As time ticks down at the end of regulation, the Warriors' Monta Ellis hits a pull-up jumper that sends the game into OT against the Sacramento Kings.

His ability to stop on a dime is amazing, and it's showcased in this game-tying buzzer-beater.

8. Manu Ginobili Fades Away to Victory

3 of 10

Manu Ginobili looks like he is about to fall over before drilling a jumper in the face of the Bucks.

He fades away and ends up out of bounds before regaining his balance and beating Milwaukee.

This isn't the last time the Bucks appear on this list...

7. D-Fish Sinks Clippers

4 of 10

Derek Fisher is no stranger to buzzer-beaters, and he does it again in this early December game against the Clippers.

He flies by his man and barely gets a lay-up off before time expires.

Fisher continues to be a essential component to the Lakers' success, even as he reaches his late 30s.

6. Mike Dunleavy Tip Beats Hornets

5 of 10

The Pacers' Mike Dunleavy may not be known for his jaw-dropping acrobatics, but he scores a top play here with his winning tip-in against the New Orleans Hornets.

As Danny Granger misses a long jumper, Dunleavy clearly knows he doesn't have time to catch the ball. He gets a hand on it and snags a victory for the Pacers.

5. Rudy Gay Drills a Winner over LeBron James

6 of 10

Back when the Heat were really struggling, they were losing by any conceivable way.

On a December night in Memphis it was Rudy Gay who drilled a fadeaway as time expired to beat Miami.

Hitting the shot with LeBron in his face made it that much better.

4. Don't Defend Melo 1-on-1 with Game in Balance

7 of 10

Why, Chicago, why?

Carmelo Anthony took the ball and had the rest of his squad clear out.

Luol Deng couldn't hang, and the result is a dagger to the Bulls.

Let that be a lesson, Chicago...make sure to double-team 'Melo with the game on the line.

3. Kevin Durant Dagger Dismantles Knicks

8 of 10

Yet another guy that should be defended with double teams at the end of games...Kevin Durant makes it look easy.

As he fades away in THREE-POINT LAND, he smoothly drills the game winner against the Knicks.

Hard to believe he only has two buzzer-beaters in his career.

2. Andrew Bogut Tips in Inbound Pass at the Buzzer

9 of 10

The Bucks only had 0.5 of a second to work with, and Andrew Bogut made it count.

He took the midcourt inbounds pass and tipped it in as the time expired to break a tie of 95.

The sheer difficulty of pulling this play off is incredible and worth a top spot on this list. The athleticism displayed by Bogut to perfectly time his jump is eye-popping. Doing it with a guy in his face makes it even better.

1. Tyreke Evans Half-Court Winner

10 of 10

This is the greatest sequence you will see in an NBA game.

The Grizzles drill a go-ahead shot on the Kings with 1.5 seconds to go.

Tyreke Evans takes the inbound pass and is somehow able to get up to half court before launching a 50-plus-foot heave.

Nothing but net and the crowd goes wild. This has easily been the play of the year in the NBA up to this point.
