Terrence Jones and the 15 Filthiest Dunks of the Season So Far

Luke DykesJan 18, 2011

The 2010-2011 college basketball season has already had plenty of ups and downs, but the jumping around the polls is nothing compared to some of the things that the country's best players have shown us. Stars and unknowns alike, the players in this list have the common ability to ignite a gym by showing off their practiced study of dunkology. Many have managed to increase their draft stock by showing off their talents, while others are still underrated, but they all put on a show.

Sorry about some of the quality on these videos. It's hard to find the specific dunks sometimes.

Honorable Mention: Brandon Paul, Illinois

1 of 16

Brandon Paul's dunk against Southern Illinois is impressive partly because he is a guard going against a bigger player. It is even more impressive due to the pounding he takes.

15. Peyton Siva, Louisville

2 of 16

Peyton Siva is a superb athlete for Louisvile and proves it with the speed he takes this ball to the basket for this 360 dunk.

Tune into 2:10 on the video.

14. Derrick Williams, Arizona

3 of 16

Arizona's best player has been putting the team on his back all season, but for this dunk he definitely shrugged whatever weight he had on his shoulders.

13. Harrison Barnes, North Carolina

4 of 16

Barnes hasn't performed to his ability this season, but he flashed his brilliant athleticism against Kentucky.

12. Tai Wesley, Utah State

5 of 16

Anytime you see a 6'7", 240 pound man dribbling down the lane at you, you should be scared. Tai Wesley made this a valid fear in his game against BYU by destroying poor Chris Collinsworth.

11. Travis Leslie, Georgia

6 of 16

Travis Leslie has had his share of the highlight reel. Leslie has shown in the past that he's one of the best dunkers in the country and his dunk here against Notre Dame proved it.

10. Terrence Jones, Kentucky

7 of 16

Although Terrence Jones had plenty of dunks on the year that could be included on this list, this one takes the cake. He broke through two UConn defenders to get to the rack.

9. Rodney Williams, Minnesota

8 of 16

Rodney Williams is another role player that managed to prove his athletic ability with some show-stopping dunks. Here he put Cornell's Anthony Gatlin on the ground on his way to the basket.

8. D.J. Stephens, Memphis

9 of 16

Memphis's sophomore guard DJ Williams posterized Henry Sims and Hollis Thompson in their game against Georgetown in December.

7. Jermaine Mallett, Missouri State

10 of 16

Mallett is really unknown out of Missouri State, but his dunk against Central Arkansas at least gave him a little fame and deservedly so because this dunk is sick.

6. Justin Hurtt, Tulsa

11 of 16

Tulsa's Justin Hurtt absolutely cleared a path to the basket, and just pushed Markel Brown out of his way like he owned the place in this dunk from the in-state battle.

5. Jeffrey Taylor, Vanderbilt

12 of 16

Jeffrey Taylor's nasty dunk is equally due to his teammate's pass from out of bounds, but Taylor's athleticism and length finished the play with a bang.

4. Johnny Godette, Lee University

13 of 16

Although not a Division I school, I felt that Lee University needed to be included in this list due to this and one other dunk. Godette's power pushed him through this dunk and rattled the gym.

3. Drew Gordon, New Mexico

14 of 16

Drew Gordon puts back a missed shot with such athleticism that it put the pit in New Mexico into a frenzy.

2. Shay Shine, High Point

15 of 16

Another unknown from the mid-major ranks, Shine elevates to an almost unheard of level to annihilate UNC-Asheville's John Williams.

1. Larriques Cunningham, Lee University

16 of 16

Larriques Cunningham put forth one of the most athletic efforts to get the ball in the basket I've seen this year. You can complain that it's not Division I, but he goes to classes, so I'm counting Cunningham as a college basketball player. Plus, this dunk is the definition of filthy.
