Blake Griffin: His Top 25 Sickest Dunks

Gabe ZaldivarJun 2, 2018

Blake Griffin is not human.

That is the only reason I can think of for his recent exploits. He has done the one thing that no other player has managed to do: He has made the Clippers relevant.

The Los Angeles castoffs have won 10 of their last 14 games and are playing an exciting brand of basketball.

The main reason is Blake Griffin. He is coming off a night where he dropped 47 points and grabbed 14 boards. The dude is good. He is a prolific scorer whose favorite form of scoring is the dunk. He is just so quick to the rim that defenders just stand back and marvel at his next rim-rattling exhibition.

While Griffin is just getting started, he has already left us with a long list of fantastic finishes. Here are his best dunks thus far.

25. Blake Griffin: First Dunk

1 of 25

Here are Blake's first points in the NBA. Something tells me this guy is going to be good. Maybe it's his ability to do unnatural things.

24. Blake Griffin: Dunk on Pau

2 of 25

The Lakers big man has been known to err on the side of soft defense at times. I am not sure this was even defense, as he allows Griffin to get the highlight of the night over him.

23. Blake Griffin: Gets Over on DeMarcus Cousins

3 of 25

Blake Griffin is a fan favorite for more than just his dunks. He is also a player that wants to win at all costs. That is what separates him from most players.

Here, Cousins lazily fields a rebound when Griffin comes flying in to deny him. In one sick motion he rebounds the ball and stuffs it over the seven-foot Cousins.

22. Blake Griffin: Two-Handed Stuff

4 of 25

Why, oh why, does nobody ever box out Blake Griffin? It's as if he always has an open lane to the ball and the bucket.

I guess if you did stand in his way he would just leap over you, anyway.

21. Blake Griffin: One-Handed Stuff

5 of 25

Blake is so good, he can beat you with one hand. Here he fields a pass, collects the ball and stuffs it all in one motion.

I have trouble making a cup of coffee without spilling.

20. Blake Griffin: Alley-Oop on Spurs

6 of 25

It must be nice being a Clippers player about now. You are an exciting young team on the rise with a new star in the making.

You also have the easiest manner of collecting assists. Just toss the ball to the rim. If Griffin is nearby, he will dunk home anything you pass to him. It's that simple.

19. Blake Griffin: Poor, Poor Buffaloes

7 of 25

Sometimes guarding the paint will get you on the highlight reel, just not in a good way.

Trust me. If Blake Griffin fields a pass anywhere near your vicinity, run away.

The man is planning to dunk all over you.

18. Blake Griffin: Breakaway Slam Dunk

8 of 25

If you see Blake Griffin steaming towards you with a look in his eye, get out of the way. He is either about to posterize you or you are exactly his type.

Either way, you don't want to be around to find out which.

17. Blake Griffin: Dunk Contestant Show Off

9 of 25

The great thing about Blake in the dunk contest is their is no victim to pick up off the floor when he is done. This is a taste of what is to come in a few weeks.

Griffin will be taking part in the NBA dunk contest during All-Star weekend.

16. Blake Griffin: Summer Fun

10 of 25

Ah, the summer league. It is like a daily exhibition game of all the best players you never heard of. Except with less defense.

Here, Blake gets to stretch his legs a little and get into the open court. The sad part is there is hardly a defender around to appreciate the feat.

15. Blake Griffin: Preseason Hops

11 of 25

Before Griffin suffered a season-ending injury last season, but he was showing the goods in exhibition games. Here, he posterizes DJ Mbenga.

Mbenga is not a real DJ, nor is he a real issue for Griffin to dunk on.

14. Blake Griffin: One-Handed Putback

12 of 25

Just when you thought it was safe to stay in the key, here comes Blake Griffin. You never know when you will see another highlight from the young forward. So it is best to stay glued to your seat.

Here he turns a put-back opportunity into a highlight reel dunk.

13. Blake Griffin: Free Throw Dunk

13 of 25

Griffin almost takes off from the free throw line against the Hornets before sending it home. No man should have those handles alongside that jumping ability.

We should all remember the man still has his whole career ahead of him.

12. Blake Griffin: Alley-Oop on Trojans

14 of 25

Blake was a point guard's best friend even in college. The only thing you can hope for in a scenario like this is that Griffin gets distracted on his way to the rim.

He is in the air for such a long time that it is entirely possible.

11. Blake Griffin: Flying Over Davidson

15 of 25

The quality of the video leaves a little to be desired. But if you are wondering, Griffin is that white streak that flies across your computer screen.

The man is dangerously close to floating away in this clip.

10. Blake Griffin: 45-Foot Alley-Oop

16 of 25

Griffin doesn't need pristine passes. The guy can jump out of the building to catch a pass. So, it is a bit unfair that he gets a man like Baron Davis to throw him passes.

Here he is receiving a touchdown pass and stuffing it home to great effect.

9. Blake Griffin: Get Back In There

17 of 25

Normal players would have rebounded the ball. Then they would have pump-faked 18 times before going up for a layup and then acting like they got fouled.

Griffin is too busy to mess with all that.

8. Blake Griffin: High School Highlight

18 of 25

After this play, Griffin should have been banned from playing in any other high school game. The man was clearly light years ahead of any other player.

How do you stop a dude that jumps over defenses?

7. Blake Griffin: Dunks While Hitting Head on Backboard

19 of 25

This is proof that the only man that can stop Blake Griffin is Blake Griffin. He jumps so high that he knocks his head on the backboard.

Yet he still manages to pull off an impressive dunk.

6. Blake Griffin: Baron Davis No-Look Pass

20 of 25

It is a bit ridiculous that in the middle of an actual NBA game, Baron Davis and Blake Griffin decide to go all Dunk Contest on the Hawks.

Davis throws the ball behind his back and Griffin has to reach to the rafters to get it.

5. Blake Griffin: Timmmaaaaay

21 of 25

Here is a clear changing of the guard moment. Blake Griffin is none too worried about the future Hall of Famer standing in his way.

The fearless Clipper decides to dunk over the legendary Tim Duncan in epic grandeur.

4. Blake Griffin: Nenad Krstic Poster

22 of 25

Blake Griffin does Nenad dirty. Griffin loses his man and finds Kristic in the paint. That is a very unfortunate place for the Thunder player to be, as you can see.

3. Blake Griffin: Reverse Dunk

23 of 25

As if merely stuffing it home weren't enough, Blake decides to change direction mid air and throw down a reverse.

Don't the Pistons have enough issues without getting dunked on?

2. Blake Griffin: Mozgov Poster

24 of 25

Timofey Mozgov was just standing there minding his own business when Griffin came over and dunked all over his face.

If you need your dignity Timmy, it will be waiting for you at home.

1. Blake Griffin: Spin Move Into Dunk

25 of 25

Blake is not just a one-trick pony. The guy can move with the basketball.

Take this dunk here. He spins around Danilo Gallinari before going up for the finish.

At least Danilo had the correct instincts. He tucks his head and prays to be transported to another place.

Nice defense.
