Carmelo Anthony Trade Rumors: Who Do the Knicks Send To the Memphis Grizzlies?
A new addition to the trade rumors surrounding Carmelo Anthony are the new ones about Memphis joining in on a three team deal that would land Anthony in New York and OJ Mayo in Denver.
Problem is, who's going to land in Memphis?
Well, Memphis has a few choices they can ask for. The Memphis Grizzlies can ask for a player like Danilo Galinari, Landry Fields, and Wilson Chandler.
All three players are capable of helping the Grizzlies in different ways.
Galinari could provide Memphis with a sharpshooter from long range, something the team lacks. Gay and Conley are more than capable shooters, but none are real threats every time down the floor from long range. Danilo is a known assassin from downtown, and would surely help the team in that department. He also has a nice all-around offensive game, and can drive as well as create his own shot.
Landry Fields would bring some toughness to the back court, and would give the Grizzlies a nice rebounding advantage over most teams. As a rookie, Fields also comes cheap. He can pair with Zach Randolph, Rudy Gay, and Marc Gasol to form the best rebounding starting lineup in the league. He is also a decent spot up shooter.
Wilson Chandler is probably the most interesting one to the Grizzlies. Chandler has improved his range and has become a very good shooter. He is good at slashing and can create his own shot. He is also an above average defender, and can provide Memphis with a long and tall player to play at the two spot. Having a 6'8 player as their shooting guard would give them a real length advantage.
Memphis can really ask for any of these players, as acquiring 'Melo might make any one of them expendable.
Each one has their own strengths and their own weaknesses, and could all benefit a team in their own way.
