NBA Trade Rumors: 5 Destinations For Philadelphia 76ers' Andre Iguodala

Jun 7, 2018

It is obvious that the Philadelphia 76ers have to look forward and plan for their future.

I don’t believe Iguodala is happy in Philadelphia anymore and while he is still effective, the Sixers should ship his contract out.

There are teams on the edge of contention who feel they are a piece away and there are other teams who may look to him to be a positive leader for a younger team.

The following list is of five possible trade destinations for “Iggy”.

Enjoy!

Charlotte Bobcats

CHARLOTTE, NC - NOVEMBER 24: Andre Iguodala #9 of the Philadelphia 76ers drives against Raymond Felton #20 of the Charlotte Bobcats during the game on November 24, 2008 at Charlotte Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Bobcats won 93-84. NOT

Possible Players Involved

Charlotte- Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson

Philadelphia- Andre Iguodala, Lou Williams

If Iguodala wants out of Philadelphia, Charlotte may be the best road out for both the team and the player.

If I were the Sixers, I would go after Gerald Wallace.  He is a solid two way player that might rejuvenate a stagnate Sixers team.

I would do whatever it took to bring Wallace or even Stephen Jackson into the organization.

Iggy has lost the love of Philly in a big way.

Cleveland Cavaliers

2 of 5
BOSTON - MAY 07: Antawn Jamison #4, Mo Williams #2, LeBron James #23 and Shaquille O'Neal #33 of the Cleveland Cavaliers walk to the bench during a game against the Boston Celtics during Game Three of the Eastern Conference Semifinals during the 2010 NB

Possible Players Involved

Cleveland- Mo Williams, J.J. Hickson, Antwan Jamison

Philadelphia- Andre Iguodala, Lou Williams, Elton Brand, Maresse Speights

Since the departure of LeBron James, the Cavaliers have been searching for the face of the franchise.

Andre Iguodala may be their man.

Iguodala is a safe player who is very clean cut off the court and would be easy to deal with.  The Cavs could easily push him as their star.

The pressure on Iguodala would be the same in Cleveland as it was in Philadelphia but the expectations would be less with the lack of talent around him.

This move might also be a way to dump the monster contract of Elton brand.  I would move Brand's contract while he is healthy and playing well.

Toronto Raptors

3 of 5
DALLAS - FEBRUARY 13: DeMar DeRozan #10 of the Toronto Raptors goes up for a dunk during the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest on All-Star Saturday Night, part of 2010 NBA All-Star Weekend at American Airlines Center on February 13, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. NOTE TO

Toronto- DeMar DeRozan

Philadelphia- Andre Iguodala

DeMar DeRozan is what the Sixers expected Evan Turner to be.

While I am not ready to call Turner a bust, his lack of development leads me to believe that moving Iguodala for a big shooting guard would not be misguided.

Iguodala would become the offensive leader of the Raptors and would be a good building block for the team's future.

Possible Players Involved

Minnesota- Michael Beasley, Kevin Love

Philadelphia- Andre Iguodala, Lou Williams, Elton Brand, Thaddeous Young

Ok, I know this trade would be unlikely and hard to pull off but follow me.

I would offer A.I., Elton Brand, Lou Williams, and Marreese Speights for Kevin Love and Michael Beasley.

What?! Go ahead, say what again.

The Wolves get two post players back in Brand and Speights for the two they let go, as well as a bona fide scorer in Iguodala.

They don’t need any more point guards but Lou Williams could teach the all the kids they have.

If I were the Sixers, I would move Evan Turner to point guard and try to develop him in a different way.

New Jersey Nets- Denver Nuggets

5 of 5
DENVER, CO - JANUARY 13: Chauncey Billups #1 and Carmelo Anthony #15 of the Denver Nuggets look on during a break in the action against the Miami Heat at the Pepsi Center on January 13, 2011 in Denver, Colorado. The Nuggets defeated the Heat 130-102. NOT

Philadelphia- Andre Iguodala, Lou Williams

I don’t know how the logistics of the deal would go down but if I was the Sixers' GM, I would get involved in this deal as the third team.

I would send Iguodala to whatever team would accept him and hope that I got one of the first round draft picks that everyone has been talking about.

It would be an easy way to move Iguodala out of town while securing a strong future.
